yup it is modded, and i have no idea what kind of modchip is installed in it, i post in the other forum how to find what kind of modchip you have,, still i can't open my ps2 it is on warranty from where i bought it...

i don't know what kind of modchip i have. I'll explain as much as i know.

-- when i operate my PS2, First Boot.. It boot normally, plain PS2 Sounds
regular boot (where the option is only BROWSER and SYSTEM
    CONFIGURATION

-- When I Play PS2 Original/Burned/Backup Games It loads normaly without
pressing the reset button i just put the disc on and it loads automatically
The Logo is just plain PLAYSTAION 2..
** It doesn't tell me what kind of modchip i have **

-- I Try Pressing/Holding The Triangle + Circle buttons and nothing show up
    Modchip configuration Menu.(Matrix Infinity)
** So I know that my Ps2 modchip is not Matrix Infinity **

-- When i Put Burned/Rip Movies all i do is i press the reset twice OR
when i press reset i hold the circle button
** It Reads and Play my movies smoothly and perfectly **

-- BUT when i put an Original REGION 1 DVD (hence my Ps2 is NTSC/J) it
    gives me the messege
(this player is incompatible with the region marking of this disc)
** Regional Codes hence my ps2 is modded and it should play Region 1 **

--When I want to play PSX/PS1 Disc (Original/Burned/Backup)
I Just Press The Reset Twice
** It Reads Perfectly and smooth just like my Old PS **

SO IF SOMEONE KNOW WHAT KIND OF MODCHIP I DO HAVE ON MY PS2 PLEASE REPLY YOUR POST, WHAT KIND OF MODCHIP I DO HAVE..

    Thankyou..

Only way to find out what chip you have is either to open your system and look at it or contact the place where you bought it and ask them what you bought.

Usually people research what they're going to install in their system BEFORE getting it installed.

and pick a different usb drive. doesn't seem to be fully compatible.

Did you try booting it on PS1 mode?
My ps2 is also scph77006 (modded with a generic chip).
I had to press reset twice to go to PS1 mode on this chip in order to get USBADVN to work.
But you must have FMCB installed first, it makes booting the USBADVN elf from MC or USB much easier since you are not able to boot the USBADVN disc in PS1 mode anyways.
Try pressing reset 6 times, it also works for some modchips.

Im not sure if this will work on a scph9000x model though.
I hope this helps you as it did for me
