USB Advance with Free McBoot for Slim 79001
USB Advance with Free McBoot for Slim 79001 –
I currently have Free McBoot installed on a memory card and use ESR for my PS2 backups. This all works fine, but I am looking into using an external HD for all my backups. Could someone please assist me how to do this? Can I download USBAdvance and put it on the memory card? I have codebreaker 10 (does not work with a USB stick on my slim, I used my brothers FAT PS2 for my current exploit) Is the HD performance the same as a DVD?
Thanks all for your assistance.
That should work fine, with the usual reservations about USB device compatibility and using the correct format (FAT32) etc.

No. The speed of the PS2/PStwo USB 1.1 interface is much too slow for that. So some FMV sequences will lag and stutter. But the non-movie parts of the games normally work fine.

Another thing to remember is that USBAdvance has much lower game compatibility than HDLoader, so less than half of all games will work at all. But surprisingly some of the games that fail with HDLoader work well with USBAdvance, which is one reason to use it even for people like me who also use HDLoader. (eg: The original '.hack' series works fine with USBAdvance but not with any version of HDLoader or ToxicOS)
