I have a Slim PS2, independence compiler & nascar 97 PS1 disc. I am attempting to create a explot on my MEM card to boot via a PS1 disc (nascar '97).

I have a USB drive and usb advance elf, the disc just boots Nascar '97, completely ignoring the exploy file on my MEM Card, even though I have at least the launch elf on my card.

I assume it must be the SLUS for nascar '97, but I have entered what I feel is correct 3 times now when building the exploit and still can't make it work.

Can Independence be used to create a MEM card exploit via PS1 disc on a Slim PS2?

I've tried everything I can think of five times over & all that ever happens is Nascar '97 boots. One good thing is I'm happy I paid only $1.50 for Nascar '97, since the game is jaggy heaven. Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers, Royce

Sony put a stop to the exploit used by the MC for the slim models. You will need a modchip or a swap disc (retail).
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

    Okay, thank for the rely.

Here is my new situation: I was able to acquire a fatty PS2, and using my Nascar PSX game & MEM Card exploit I can load USBAdvance on the PS2.

The problem is I cannot get ANY game (tried 3, MVP 05, Hoops 2k6 & NHL 2k7) to load.....all I can get to occur is a black screen.

Am I not understanding something correctly? Or could it simply be that the 3 games I tried just are not compatible with the USB HDD? Also, would the actual HDD used be a possible (USBAdvance does seem to recognize everything correctly)?

    Thanks, Royce
