ps2 v9

hi!
Ive an ps2 v9 with crystalchip 1.1 installed. And I want to use hd, since I get problem reading the backupdvd's.

Im not sure what is the best to use, usb-hd or ide-hd. Isnt the usb on the ps2 v9 just usb 1.1 kind of slow?

If I should use and usbdisk what should I do? burn an cd with launchprogram? where do I find this program? can I get an point to point guide, kind of newbe here so I have not much of experience with this kind of things. Dont want to mess thing up...

why on earth would you wanna use a usb HD on a V9 that is quite capable of having an IDE drive installed that is much quicker. USB is sloooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
