The main thing is why I need this is that my ps2 console is modded with a modbo chip and chip after defeating copy protection once , turns itself off thus making ACTION replay max type cheating cds completely useless..
I wanna know is it possible and HOW to format usb flash as a ps2 hdd, dump arction replay max there and to launch it.
I guess it might be done like this: format usb flash drive to fat 32, copy hdadvance.elf to mc and dump ar max with it to usb flash drive. then after using armax from usb I can load the game.
Well please, let me know anything about it.

well you can do this with usbadvance but your gonna need at least a 4gb pen drive for just one game lol

I just need 2 launch ACTION replay max evo so I could cheat with my games that's all
Because like I said, once defeating a copy protection chip switches off, thus enabling armax and when I need to put in the particular game i wanna cheat on the game never loads, coz the chip is sooo in sleep mode

It is possible to use a 'Flash drive' the same way as you'd use a USB HDD, and to install CD images onto it for use with USBAdvance/USBExtreme, provided that the flash drive is large enough for the images to be stored. I've done this for some of my own testing, though not with the program you want.
However, this doesn't necessarily mean that any program will work properly when launched this way. Just like games, cheat code engines may have varying compatibility with the CDVD-emulating drivers of USBA/USBE, and I think your chances of making ARMax work that way are quite low (though I never tried it myself). It will probably be easier for you to make CodeBreaker work, since that can run very well as a standalone ELF program. You could even launch it from a PS2 memory card, though that would 'waste' almost 3 MB of its storage space, so I still recommend launching it from a flash drive instead. But you can do that without USBA/USBE, simply launching the ELF file from a normal folder on the drive, using uLaunchELF or similar 'desktop' program on your PS2.

I did it just this week, I just pluged my flash drive (4gb) in PS2 and used "USB Extreme" to run games and "SMS (Simple Media Player)" to AVI, worked great !

canaiver what software did you used exactly. Because USBADV.ELF didn't launch for me. Screen just goes black and that's it..
For dlanor, thanks you, I used codebreaker.elf and it worked just fine!! But only problem is it does not recognize my USB FLASH DRIVE. I have a usb driver. in my SMS directory. Maybe you know how to sort this out dlanor?
