Im having a problem running games from an external usb hdd.

    i fellowed this guide: http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=usbadvance.html

and done evrything properly but at the time when i get to usbadvance game selecting screen on the ps2. i can see the games but when i try to start a game a pop message appers saying "please wait... ... loading title" and nothing happens.

i have the slim 7004 version moded with crystal chip 1.1 i think and have fw 34 with Bootmanger
im loading usbadvance through my memory card with Ulaunchelf
using a seagate 40g 7200rpm that supposed to be supported.
and the game i try to play is Dynasty warriors 5 also supposed to work.

    - The chip is not compatible with USBADVANCE you have to disable it.
    - Wishing someone could make a program that will allow us to disable a modchip temporarilly without the hassle of resetting it five times

@Steller your problem is likely your modchip, I dont know from experiance, but I have seen this question anwsered a dozen times. some chips you can simply turn off macrovision other your SOL. If I remember right crystal chip = SOL, sorry.

@Yawa take time to search around for a compatibility list (theres one on this forum). USB advance/extreme are know for not having the greatest compatibility, so a great number of games are not going to work, Marvel VS. Capcom 2 definitely being one of them.

Yes I did check the compatibilty list thats why I mention only that games and I only install games that was in the list

I think I got the answer a long time ago I wasnt paying attention that time. It seems that this is a modchip issue I have to disable my modchip but the question is how?

Please anyone know how to disable my modchip SCPH 7706-J?

It seems that I have to tap the power button 5-6 times but Im not sure if its safe to do that
and also Im using a Ule bottable disk in order to let me acces the USBAdvance.elf I cant have FMCB yet as of now Im still looking for Jap MC around my place.

Ok, cause MvsC2 will not work for anyone.

you might just need to disable macrovision. I dont knwo much about that stuff dlanor would be the one to ask. It would help a tremendous amount if mentioned what kind of modchip you have, along with any other details.
