psx video funky on ps2...

I burned FFtactics with alcohol %120 to an imation CDR at 4x and am trying to play it on my v5 messiah 2 1.3 modded system.
Audio is fine, the video however looks somewhat messy. It doesn't look digitized but it has these vertical bars that run from top to bottom all the way across the screen. The FMV is affected and the colors are washed out.

anyone have any ideas? Need any more info? thanks for any input.

and your ps2 screen is normal? maybe has something to fo with out of region tv system, what kind of cable are you using?

issue solved. I was trying to play a pal game and i'm in the us. :P duh.
