dude, please pick a single place in the forums to post about this and stick with it. this is the second place I've seen you post about PS1 backups.
Yea, mines EXACTLY the same problem as yours!!! ....who'da thunk it...
Umm.........i found the solution......i forgot to burn the damn disc!! Ya belive that!?!!
Sorry, but ya provided me the material to have a little fun with ya..
I havent a clue on 'what you talkin bout willis'......![]()

This one doesn't know what he's talking about on this one or how to even keep one problem (or is it more? don't know since he's jumbled up everything and it's uncle in this mess) in one place.
Here's what's he's talking about. (if you can decypher it)
he's trying to use a gameshark 2 (for ps2) to boot ps1 backups.
@ ilcmdme - won't and can't happen.
And how he just brings ESR up out of the blue is beyond me. At this point, I am formally requesting to know what drugs were used in this process and is there enough for me? Seriously.
this is a ps1 thread, isn't it?
i'm just sayin if anyone has a problem i may have a solution or if i have a problem someone else may be able to help me.
that's the reason why i started this thread - seriously!
I got a pal version disc and would like to patch it so i can play it on my ntsc ps.
can anyone help?
THX
you can not use a ps2 version of gameshark to load ps1 backups.
use PS1 version of gameshark to load ps1 backups.
or a ps1 version of action reploay to load ps1 backups.
@ kevstah - this is why I'm particular on wording on this. you've successfuly made many new users beleive they can pop in a PS2 FORMAT DISC and make a PS1 backup work. You've misled a ton of users, and now I've got to correct. Congrats for making my job harder than it's supposed to be.
If they can't read that's there problem.
Read my response in the other thread here (How to FIX the "clicking" GameShark 2 CD in PSTwo)
You missed the point, that ESR is only intended to work with DVDs and not CDs.
There are a few points, why the PS2 can't load PSX-Games through ESR.
ESR is also an application, which only works on PS2 and not on PS1.
For playing PS1-Games on a PS1, use the swap-trick, fast-swap, time-swap, blubbbb...
Watch out for videos on youtube.
If I get you wrong, just post (but it is a bit hard, to follow ya.).
And it is everyone's responsibility to word themselves in such a way to where it can't be mistaken this far.
I don't mean to be harsh, and I do appreciate the fact that you are trying to help around here, but when it causes more problems than solutions is where I draw the line.
I never said a PS2 GameShark2 could boot ps1 backups though also you saw my post regarding Swap Magic too on SKSApps where I stated it only works by loading a Swap Magic ELF with either FMCB or uLE whilst an original PS1 game is inserted that has a TOC larger than the game you want to play, I also mentioned it doesn't work on any other PS2 apart from the V9.
