PSone Newbie Question.
Quick question for you guys, as its getting difficult to find info on PSone on the web.
I am a total Linux Bod however i have bought a PSone Model SCPH-102 for my kids, i have downloaded a few games from the web, and burn't them to CD.
I am a total console newbie, and i need to know if its possible load a CD thats been created from a ISO image etc.. without hardware modding the console.
I have downloaded a boot disk which comes up with a red screen asking to insert Playstation format CD (i think it was something to do with cracked yaroze) however it does not work. can someone tell me how to use this CD or let me know of a Boot Cd that will work, and if you can create an image of the disk for me i would make it worth your while email me at me@dvdbuster.co.uk

there is a swap trick to do, but it is quite a pain.
Otherwise, you could buy a gameshark, and do a swap that way (keeping in mind you have to keep the lid sensor down. Lots of stuff over the net, or PM if you cant ifnd it.

Any bootdisk that you download from the net and burn to a CD won't work as the PSX cannot handle written boot disks at all. There are a few PRINTED boot disks, but in the long run they cause much trouble than help. And they cost more than a modchip. A modchip costs about 1 buck and programing takes about 1 min, then soldering takes 20 mins with testing and there you go. If you do not have a programmer (that can be built anyway and costs about 20 bucks if I remember correctly) then buy a chip from the net it does not cost that much. Ok, your warranty will be gone, but well not that much could happen to the PSOne anyway, it's much better manufactured than any PS2.
