OK, i have an original Playstation 1 (the gray box one). It is a SCPH-550X. I bought an absolute stealth mod chip from here: http://www.psxtune.com/produktee.html

I got the chip ok and installed it (thanks to u guys!) but when i put everything back together, i press the power button, and nothing happens! The power light wont even come on! I rechecked the soldering points, and had my buddy resolder a couple of them, so im sure that none are bridging NOW, but still nothing happens. Please help!

A fuse was probably blown, that's why the power light does not come on. You shhould check the fuses first. Let's hope just that was blown, it can be fixed in minutes.

ok, i was just messing around with my playstation, and i found that when i disconnect the wires going from the Power Supply to the Mobo, the power light goes on... Does this mean i messed up my motherboard?

You have a short-circuit between GND and 3.3V or 8V. That is 99% sure. And this short is before any fuse.
I think that you may have put the power connector backwards (I'm not sure is that's possible) or you may have bent a pin on the power connector.
Also it is possible that the metal shield touches something on the motherboard. Try connectong the motherboard without the laser and without the metal shield on top of it.

    PS1 not responding!

    Start contractions!!!

No.....It deff. sounds like you are shorting something out. Check all solder points and anything else you may have touched. Just back track what you did.

Tried that and still no power light...

Also, I desoldered the chip yesterday and everything worked fine. Soldered it again later, and no power light. Could it be the chip?

Finally, i got an email from the company i bought the chip from that stated:

"measure on the chip wire red and wire blue if they have a short.
If not measure all the other wires to blue and red."

    How would i do this?

You may have reversed pin 1 and pin 8 connections, so you may have supplied the chip with reverse voltage. You can see in the attached picture how pin numbers are assigned. Pin 8 should be tied to ground.

They may have wired the chip incorrectly. Check if the blue wire goes to pin 8 and the red wire to pin 1.
