now, getting a stealth chip will completely do all of the work for you which is a plus. the only disadvantage, is that this chip has more than 3 wires to solder in contrast to the 3-4 wires to solder with the older mm3 chip. you'll definitely need to solder more wires from the chip to the slim PS-one console than with the older psx fattie consoles.
let me know if you need my diagrams. you can find other psx chip diagrams if you google. i do have a diagram fully completed for scph-7501 (for the mm3 chip set up) if you do have this version.
PS1/SCPH-7501 | MM3 modchip
PS2 v9 | 250GB hdd | PS3 component cable | katana 32mb mc
PS3/CECH-2001B | 250GB hdd | 3.65 ofw
Just to clarify things here - the MM3 IS the latest stealth chip and it is also exactly the same as the "Stealth Elite" that modchip.ca sells. To answer s8n's original question - yes the diagrams on modchip.ca are for their "Stealth Elite" chip. The only other place I know of to buy PSX modchips is EURASIA.nu. If you don't want to get ripped off by modchip.ca I highly recommend utilizing their site by either programming your own modchip (with the same exact "stealth" code that modchip.ca uses) or by buying one from them for $4 (you could get the "old crow" chip for $3 but for only an extra $1, why?). Just keep in mind they usually seem to have incredibly slow shipping. If you want to program your own chips you can download the HEX code from EURASIA.nu, buy a programmer on eBay for like $10 or so and get some 12C508a chips from mouser.com for like $1.20 apiece. If you are only after a single chip then the price may not really matter to you, but I just thought you might like to at least know your options. If you have any questions about programming your own modchips just let me know.
