I need a PS1 mod chip but I have heard that you can use PIC chips. I have a programmer and a 12f683 which I used for yaosm 3.2 for the Wii.

Can someone hook me up with some information on where I would get the source code to program my chip for the PS1.

I've moved your thread into the proper subforum for that info. and garyopa has some firmwares that might work on that chip you have.

It you look in this PSone forum where your post got moved to, you will see a sticky from me for a re-issue of the old PSX code which I ported over to the 12F629 chip, and it includes full (i think also commented) source code, so it should be easy to make the changes for it to work on your 12F683, if not post here again, and I will see if I can rustle up some free time to make a 12F683 version for you.

Assembly is a little hard 4 me but I could learn enough to make the changes if I wanted although I'm too lazy but I am curuois what it would involve.

The 2 chips seem very simmalar but surely there would be more too it that just changeing the include and list? what outher changes would have to be made?

I semi understand some of the code, and I can't see anything else that needs changes.

I have looked into the old source code but unfortunately have no idea how to convert it for the PIC 12f683.

I have read that someone commented out lines 92 or 93 and that worked but that doesn't seem to make sense to me.

Can somebody modify the source code for me when you get a chance for the 12f683.

Thank you I really appreciate it as it is for a customer that has given me a lot of business.

Told hold me to it, but I will see if I can free up a little bit of time this weekend or worse monday morning to quickly run thru the 12c508 and my new 12f629 and compare it to the 12f683 datasheet to see what is needed to be changed.

I had a busy sat. already 19 broken consoles in to be repaired, and still 6 left to do for the morning, and already been slaving away since 7am this morning on repairs, and stuff with a small break for dinner, just after 10pm now. Ugh!

Need to design a way to slow down time, and make the day a 32 hour day, but then I just end up with more work coming in. So no-win-solution there.

whenever you get to it is fine. I appreciate it and we all wish we could slow down time haha.

    Hi Garyopa,

Just wondering if you have had a chance to compare the 12f629 to the 12f683 and modify that source code for me?

If you are too busy I can just try and order a 12f629 but I don't have any at the moment and have a ton of 12f683

    Thanks.

I picked up a ps-one the other day, and a 12F683, so I can double-check and test it before I release any source code changes.

But give me a few more days to complete everything.

    Thanks for waiting.

Hope you don't have to pace the floor too much longer.

I will be fine hahaha. Thanks a lot dude. I was going to play around with it and test it so I appreciate you saving me the trouble.

I assume the install diagrams will be the same?
