    Hi!

Me and my friend got a bit nostalgic and we decided to play some PS1 games. But his PS1 had been gathering dust on a shelf for a few years and has this problem that its controller ports aren't working. I opened it up and cleaned it from dust but that didn't help. The thing is that the little analogue light turns on when I press the analogue button but none of the other buttons work. This problem is with both of the controller ports, I tested it with two different controllers. Also when I leave the lid open and turn it on (where that menu appears where you can access the memory card and music player) the cursor doesn't appear, so this means that it doesn't recognize the controller at all.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Or do I have to get a new controller port (which is quite tricky to get where I live)? All suggestions are welcome!

Could it be just the controller?

Nope, it can't be. I have now 6 different controllers, none of them work with this PS1, yet they all work with a different PS1.

Sorry for double posting, but I had an idea. The one I'd like to get working is a big grey PS1, but what if I take the controller port from a small white PS1? Could it work? I know they are completely different models so is there a possibility it will damage the small PS1's controller port?

The fuse is blown on the controller +3.3V line.
    What model PS1 is this?

Use a multimeter to measure continuity between the fuses to find out which one is blown.
    PS3 - CECHA01 60GB 3.55 CFW Kmeaw
    PS3 - CECHH01 40GB OFW
    PS3 - CECHK01 80GB YLOD/Research
    PS2 - SCPH-30001 - FreeMCBoot
PSX - SCPH 5501 (Repaired lens and fuse)
    PSP-1000 - DA 5.00 M33-6
