no cd drive

i have 2 playstation one's here.... so the problem is playstation (1) has a modchip somewhere in their but no cd drive and playstation (2) is not modded but has a cd drive, so i was wondering if i can swap the cd drive into playstation (1)? any help please? thanks!

are they the same model? if they are then yes you can. there are different lasers for different models so do a search on your models to find out if they are compatible or not.
post back with the model numbers , maybe someone here can help

If you have two ps1 no problem at all, just use the lens from the other, if one is a fat and other is a slim just change the laser unit.

the unmodded ps1 with the lens is model no: SCPH-7501 and the modded ps1 with no drive is: SCPH-9001
