By playing around, I damaged the controller ports of my Japanese SCPH-1000.

Does anyone know, if changing the fuse remedies the problem or can other thing be damaged too?

    Any help appreciated :-)

usually changing the small fuses on the board solve the problem, but dont confuse with the glass one on the power board. the fuse you are looking for has either 15,20,25,or 30 on it the controller one i think is a 15 but check all with a continuity checker, cause i find that they fuses usually go in pairs on old ps1 units

Controllerports are fixed by replacing the fuses :-)
    Two of them were blown.

But now I have another problem: I tore the flat ribbon cable from the laser unit. Is there any way to buy a new one and just replace it or must I replace the whole laser (the laser is still good and was seldom used. Only with pressed CDs).
