I dug out my ps1 to play some ffIX today but ran into some trouble. My game seems to have gone MIA. I figured that it was only a minor annoyance though because I own a mod chip for mine and remember playing lots of burnt games back when I was younger. So after some youtube snooping I got myself setup with a new 4 disc copy of ffIX. All thats left to do is throw the game in and play right? Well sadly no. I get stuck at the "Start" screen that I should usually just hit O and it would load the game. I researched more and saw about this "swap trick". I dont remember ever having to do that though, and even if I did, I dont have any other games for my old playstation. they either have gone missing or been destroyed over the years. So I need some help. Is this swap trick the only way, or am I just doing something wrong and not using the chip right? I tried both settings with the switch on it, and tried each of the 4 discs. none of them even booted up. Its a game hunter cd version chip if anybody is wondering. Hope somebody has some answers for me, I cant seem to find them anywhere else.

    Thanks in advance,
    -Anonymoose

I'm broke or I would. Thats kinda why im trying to go this route in the first place. Rather than buy a replacement ($13 bucks I would rather eat with) I just burnt new copies. It's not piracy since I do technically own the game, even if I cant find it.
