Thread: Fuses for Playstation?

  1. #1 Fuses for Playstation?
    Jool Guest
My playstation doesn't detect most of my controllers, and I suspect that a fuse may have gone bad. Where would I get a replacement fuse, or other suitable alternative?

You should get a new psx and have it modded.

Ok I fixed my 5501 with the same problem. Look at the bottom left side of the board. (near the power supply and the controller port) there should be 3 fuses. The one that does not have continuity is the busted one. You can get a new fuse from like radio shack but it won't be surfaced mounted. Or you can do like I did and just bridge the sucker( my friends f'ing $300 DDR pads blew the thing). I did it about a year ago now and the psx has been fine, along with the other horrible things i have done to the system, very easy fix.

I took out the fuse and bridged the connection, and it works great! Thanks a bunch!

I know it isn't the way it "should be" but it has worked flawless for over a year now.
