CC Software 34 modified v2!

I noticed this wasn't posted here anymore, so I figured I'd repost it. I don't remember the content of the original post, but here's what the included .txt says:

__________________________________________________ _____________________________
************************************************** *****************************
****************-----CrystalChip Software 34 modified v2-----******************
*****************************-----17.11.2007-----******************************
################################################## #############################

Additions:
- Added access to FW Manager when booting from CD to be able to use the
"Format dffs" command.
- Added more language variables for nearly complete translation.
- Added the ability to install/remove language files with BootManager
(inside the Interface Configuration).
- Readded FTP server. It's not very stable and might cause problems, so
better use uLEs FTP server.
- Added option to install BootManager without any additional device drivers
for USB, HDD and network (minimal installation).

Fixes/Changes:
- Themes can now be loaded from all devices.
- Fixed a bug which caused theme settings not to be saved when changing
the theme.
- Fixed DVD video disc booting by adding SHUTDOWN "MM" to the SCEDVD
APPINFO.PBT. (thanks to stefanol69)
Now you don't have to disable your CC each time you want to watch DVDs,
but this fix also disables the DVD video fixes and patches (Region free,
RGB green fix, etc.).
- Fixed some small menu bugs.
- Changed the language selection. Now you can create language files for any
language you want. You're no longer limited to English, German, French,
Italian and Spanish, and you can choose a name for the language file,
just take care of the naming scheme (8.3 with upper case letters) and the
extension has to be ".PBT".
- Changed the DEVINFO.PBT files to be able to install/remove the device
drivers. Previously only the script files were installed or removed.
You can now remove device drivers you don't need with the Device Manager
to save some space on MemCard or CC flash. This is useful for CC2.0 users
who want to install Themes or Apps to the CC flash.

Details:
This hacked Firmware allows you to play import & backup PS1 and PS2 games.
Details about previous software changes can be found in the readme.txt.
If you experience problems during the update, look at the upgrade.txt.

Instructions:
Execute the makeit.bat to create the disc image.
Burn the bin/cue image to CD using your favorite software (e.g. Nero).
Boot the disc in your PS2 and install firmware and BootManager.

For more detailed burning instructions refer to:
http://crystal-chips.com/main/content/view/70/62/

Includes:
- German Language File (can be installed in the Interface Config menu)

- "Crystal PS2" Theme by ps2dragon

Original "CC Software 34 modified v2" Page 1 from Google Cache

That's most of what the original post contained. I was going to remake the thread, but I was waiting for Jones23 to recreate it, so he could modify the first post if needed. Anyway, here are all posts from page 1 of the original thread.

I'd say it's fine this way. I still have contributer status, so I can edit every post here on the forums.
I just stickied this thread, so we have it back up again.

best regards Jones23

Hi Jones23,
I really hope you can help me with this annoying problem. For ages I am trying to get SMS working, but still not successfull. I have slimline ps2, crystalchip 2.0, cc software r34. I have tried everything, starting it from BM, launchelf, memorychip, etc.
But each time it freezes in it's start-screen. sometimes it reads media, but then stops. I am not able to get to menu by start.
Any idea how you did get your SMS running ? Do you do something special with bootmanager. Perhaps minimal installation ?
I really hope you help me. For the rest working with cc 2.0 is great, but I would like to have SMS working.
Thx in advance,
John

SMS only works properly when started from MemCard with the SHUTDOWN "MM" command in the APPINFO.PBT. Grab a correct APPINFO.PBT from my first R34 modified release or make one with Downlord's APPINFO.PBT maker.

best regards Jones23

Hi Guys.

I have a problem.

I created a CC upgrade.bin with the makeit.bat. before doing so, i added some programs in the APPS folder (ule, SMS and HDL).
then i burnt it on a cd and put the CD into my PS2 (v9 with CC 2.0).
Installing the BM and the FW was no problem.
But when i'm in the BM and want to install for example ulaunch from the disc onto the MC the PS2 freezes.

I hope u cann tell me whats wrong with the disc...

EDIT: i forgot to tell: in every folder is an APPINFO.PBT and the corresponding ***.ELF

EDIT 2: I have forgotten another thing xD

When i put the BM folder onto a USB-Device i can install the APPS from the USB-Device...
Its the folder from the ccupgrade. bin ?(?(

EDIT: I Don't know why, but now it's working

To answer that, I'll quote myself from the readme:

Anyone having trouble loading PSX games? My motor in my V15 makes odd noises when loading a CD-R PSX game.

I guess that's hardware related. My PS2's drive is really loud when I insert a CD, because CDs spin faster than DVDs.

best regards Jones23
