XMB File Manager Beta v0.02 has been released today by a developer known as DeViL303. This is a mod for Rebug 3.55.2, that allows users to browse the whole PS3 filesystem, as well as deleted files. Also, gliitch has confirmed that this method works for OFW 3.55... which means there could be more possibilities. It should be noted this application is still in BETA, and the author is looking for those interested in improving/testing XMBFM. Easy to follow instructions can be found below.

XMBFM Beta v0.02 Information

I have made a little XMB mod for Rebug 3.55.2 that I call XMB File Manager (XMBFM). It is a modded version of Rebug's package manager that allows the entire ps3 filesystem to be browsed and also any files deleted. Im hoping to add things like copy function etc but would like to get feedback and help if anyones game. This wont work on standard CFW for now but i will hopefully release a standard version soon if anyone thinks I should bother.

This is a beta version for anyone who might be interested in helping me test it or improve on it.

It requires you to switch 2 files from dev_flash. heres a quick tut:

I use multiman by selecting the mount dev_flash to dev_blind option.
then copy over the 2 files to thier locations
category_game.xml goes in dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/
explore_plugin_full.rco goes in dev_blind/vsh/resource/

This is perfectly safe and I have even tested deleting most of dev_flash before and its easy reinstall FW through recovery menu so dont worry, just make sure you are on Rebug 3.55.2, It migtht cause a error on normal 3.55CFW

Have fun and let me know if you have an ideas on how I could expand it by adding things like copy function etc. Im not the best at this so any help is much appreciated?

i cant get this to work. nothing new comes up under the games tab. I wonder if its because i'm on rebug 3.55.2OOS

not sketchy just doesn't work i'm sure he screwed up somewhere and packaged the wrong files or something because gliitch confirmed it already

@Cyris - you're probably right. I'm seeing a lot of file hosting problems from most of the hosts. It's probably fallout from the megaupload raid

OK guys, I updated the link with an active download. Looks like we are going to have to start uploading everything to our download section here at PSX-Scene.

EDIT - Added the file to our Downloads section, and added the link in the article.

still not working maybe someone can contact the author or Gliitch to see what they did to get this to work. also the xml section where he added his stuff doesn't see right maybe someone with more experience then me can look at it. i know i'd like to know how this works so we can make XMB less dull and boring

Ok now I can confirm this working. If you are on Rebug Firmware you must be in Retail XMB mode and it will show up. Thanks a million now we just need to be able to FTP in XMB. A Guy Can Dream Right?

Sorry guys, didnt realise there was a thread on here, I could have answered any questions etc, anyway, XMBFM v0.06 is out now. Getting there, still a beta WIP / POC though!
