X3Max Fake? It Doesn't Appear to Be - Announcement Coming Sunday

Some websites are reporting the X3Max 3.50 dongle to be a fake, including some prominent people in the PS3 scene. However, there is absolutely no basis for these claims. The people crying fake are merely stating their opinion, which is based off of no evidence.

Here's the good news, Logic-Sunrise recently contacted X3Max, and was told an announcement, will be made by the team this Sunday, with more information. I also contacted X3Max, and received a similar response, that news would be coming shortly in the days ahead.

Finally, third party sellers of the X3Max dongle are reporting a new version of the chip is coming out very soon. OoZic of PS3Hax, recently contacted Teensy.co.uk regarding the X3Max dongle. The response he received was surprising. Teensy.co.uk claims a new 2GB version of the X3Max is coming out very soon. This dongle most likely will be the same version to include the 3.50 exploit.

I agree with Xorloser about the jailbreak was 3.50. Or it is stolen tools was Sony, it is a fake.

I think the video was made with a PS3 debug in 3.50, to boost sales of their dongle. Without real evidence, I do not believe it.

That, or a few days to prove it, but with a downgrade why would we need a 3.50 jailbreak? I realize 3.50 can still access PSN, but other than that, no real reason

I have a few reasons why we would like to have jailbroken 3.50. In example, games that require 3.50 fw to work. Don't ya think?

With the release of 3.55, you can not access PSN anymore on 3.50 unless you update to 3.55

You can get on PSN with 3.5 with the DNS trick.

Even this isn't a fake, I would never buy this shit.

They definitly use code from open source projects and hard working guys from the community to build this.

So if they realease it open source it would be cool. If not I will wait a few days. Some of the great guys will port it ot other JB sticks

acutally i dont totally agree on that , i mean think abt it, the new games WILL need newer FW to work on, 3.5 might be the new way to play them (black ops was on 3.42 they patched it to 3.41) maybe later on it will be 3.55 to 3.50 so u never know...so in other words 3.50 IS needed i mean don't u wanna play NFS and the other stuff ? it's too much pain to keep upgrading and downgrading all the time...especially when it formats ur internal HDD, i mean i got a half a terabyte inside my ps3 ... so ya

it isnt a "new x3max with 2gb" guys -- it simply is the same one but comes with a 2gb microsd inside of it -- THAT IS ALL

So nothing new -- anyone who has a x3max can simply get a microsd themselves and put it in there anyways -- nothing new! this one will just have a 2gb microsd in it!

good i was going to be pissed if they pulled the same crap that PS3KEY did with having 2 different chip sets in there dongle the second one is so much more user friendly as far as just drag and drop files to flash the device

so X3Angel you have any more good news from the inside :P will it JB 3.55 or did the hole get patched some how with FW 3.55

Hoping that doesn't mean this new payload requires much more memory somehow... I hope 32k is still enough.

Yes a 3.50 JB would be nice, so we could all starting running on 3.50 of course. And, of course, after this payload (if it exists) gets reversed by the scene for everyone.

You're completely correct, but most games that require 3.42 or 3.50 can work on 3.41, it's a pain but it works, also I love the NFS series, so I would like it.

3.50 is a big update not just for gt5 but also 3d games and 3d bluray playback, ok you may not want them now (I do) but in the future you might!

All this talk of downgrading is so boring, we need to be going forward. A lot of people seem to believe that cos some 3.42 games can be made to work on 3.41 that this will still be the case on 3.50 and beyond, it won't, future games will not work because they'll rely on features of the new firmware not just a version number change!
