WIP: PS3 Media Center - MKV and NTFS Support

Some of the folks over at the Elotrolado forums, are working on a project that many of you have been hoping for. It is a media center, with support for MKV and NTFS. The app is still early in development (approximately 40%) so there is no download available yet.

Features:

★ Audio playback

★ Playing Videos

★ Picture Playback

★ Support NTFS and MKV

People involved in the project:

★ AdriHades - contributor and tester

★ Chaky - GUI Builder

★ The_marioga - Creator of file system and parsing of XML for configuration

Current Project Status:

- Ongoing: libntfs for NTFS support and libmatroska for playing MKV files.

- Progress 40% and no date of publication.

finally some common sense, great! Now we only need NTFS support for external HDD and avoidance of transfering the files to internal.

Well, I have my PS3 connected to my computer screen so it won't be of much use to me. But this is very appreciated nontheless. Maybe now we can have some scene.

BM are nice and all but the PS3 needs really cool apps like the Wii.

I'm also hoping that libNTFS gets implemented on backup managers.

1) **** MKV. It's overhyped TECHNICALLY LAME format, that in 98% of cases could be fully replaced by mp4 container.

WOW and how long did you study on your comment?

I think they doing a hell of a job to please our needs...

Haven't seen anything to work on a PS3 from your hands

So why don't you shut the **** up and let people stay and get happy with 40% news!!!

This is great news, I'm happy to use PS3 Media Server on both my laptop and server (both running Linux) but I don't half miss being able to connect to a Windows share (or Samba share) and play the videos and music from there (as PS3 Media Server can occasionally chew up CPU cycles on my server when transcoding some non-PS3 compatible formats).

You know what we need? Is a type of program/app that can pick up cable/sattellit chanels. That would be sweet!!
