Waninkoko Releases Version 2 of CFW

This morning, Waninkoko released an updated version of his custom firmware. The new version is much more stable and no longer causes bricking.

This CFW is installed directly into the NAND has been tested in different models of console (FAT and Slim, reported in the main post) and without any bricke or similar problem.

The testers have reported a high stability in the CFW and the same compatibility with games that could be obtained with different dongles.

The main core of the payload is based on Hermes, also has some features of PL3 and supplementary code and improved by Waninkoko.

Attempted to create an application that enable / disable the payload, so that after leaving a manager backup Blu-ray was functional. After some testing has not been able to be operational, it would be desirable for the various backups managers were in charge of implementing such functionality or may be added in a later CFW.

A quote from the Read Me:

DESCRIPTION:
This custom firmware for the PS3 increases the system capabilities of your console
to allow installation and execution of homebrew applications.

This Custom Firmware can also allow the loading of legal copies (backups) using these new functions.

We do not support or support the use of illegal copies.

We are not responsible for any damage caused by use of the Custom Firmware.

INSTALLATION:
1. Download the firmware 3.55 for PS3 (PS3UPDAT.PUP file).
2. PS3UPDAT.PUP file patched using the patch included in this package using the application “bsdiff (http://www.daemonology.net/bsdiff).
3. PUP file installs the patch as normal firmware upgrade.
(If you’re in the version 3.55 you need to install from the recovery mode.)

Yupp same thing i am wondering This V2 or Kmeaw? Just gonna have to wait for more feedback from the community but in my opinion Kmeaw is working just great for me now.

do this one its really really really stable i hosted a challenge lobby for 3 hours and my internet is shit and i didnt lag out. when i was on kmeaws i lagged out in 5 mins. same patch!

can I update staright from kemeaw or do i just go back to original 3.55 and update from there?

Also do i still need to go to recovery menu or can i just update from xmb??

As stated in my thread. These are the hashes for the patched pup. Make sure you check before you attempt to update

I've found on Kmeaws my 80GB PS3 FAT freezes almost every time I run the LV2 patcher, after a power cycle it seems to be okay. My mate's brand new 320GB PS3 Slim (upgraded from FW 3.50 to FW 3.55 then to 3.55 Kmeaws) doesn't freeze half as much.

I might try this but I think I might just hang fire for a few days to see what others report with regards to compatibility.

I am still on version 3.41 with dongle. Should I install 3.55 OFW before install this CFW?

Wow, he actually tested this one before releasing it. Shocking. After all the wiis and ps3s down the drain I think I'll stick to kmeaw's. I haven't had a single problem with kmeaw's cfw, and I'd rather have as little as possible modified on my nand. I hope this isn't the way its going to go in the cfw scene. Modifing run time memory is so much safer than this.

It's cool know that wanikoko fix the brick problem, but at this time this release does not bring us a solution for the 3.56 firmware. I use the kmeaw firmware and i dont wanna change this firmware for the wanikoko release. For me kmean run prerty cool.... iwhen wanikoko release a cfw based in the 3.56 i change my version. Ok. i just think in a thing in this moment: sony banning the cfw users from psn and online. Exist any way to void this problem?
I really wanna help this guy in some way to develop this firmwares.

why sony does not leave behind her security problem like the nintendo did? The hackers dont stop to break the firmwares. It so stupid.... The console withstood for 3 years the hackers. during this time sony does not gained money enough???

how many time the sony will release news firmwares to try fix a thing that no have solution?
