The November PSX-Scene contest is over and all of the votes are in. We had some awesome entries this month which you can see reflected by the number of votes for the winners!!! The race for the 2 $50 runner up prizes started getting closer as it got later in the month. With that being said let's see who won the top 3 prizes. I agree completely! I've been saying that for MONTHS! ESPECIALLY with a update to the same thing that you entered with the last month. I believe:

      • An Entry should be YOUR work or a SIGNIFICANT update of features to an existing work with credits explicitly given to the original work.
      • Each version of your work should be on the same "slot". In reality, the entry should have stood on it's own without the need for updates.
      • New versions of your work should only be submitted if they are significant updates to the old one.
      • No more than X updates to a work should be considered. If it was good enough to enter it shouldn't NEED that many updates.
      • Alpha, pre-release, and beta projects should be ruled out or in a separate class.

      Just my two cents.

      Wow! Nice work everyone!

I don't know if this is the place to give you guys where you can send the payment of the reward, but here is the link to deank from multiMAN's donations: http://tinyurl.com/donate4MM -- I am a man of my word.

Sorry deank, I didn't earn the 1st place prize, but 2nd isn't so bad! Like I said before, the base of this feature already existed in multiMAN, I was just clever to capitalize on it and make it work for us for installing PSN games to any external HDD we have connected to our PS3. I'm glad that many found my "tweak" useful. Thanks for the votes!

If you sent the money to deank, Jay-Jay. +1 rep in my book Jay-Jay.

Hence forth, in this instance here, know that you're completely excluded from my take someone else work and win the contest rants.

The tutorial was well written. Good job writing it.

Mad respect Jay-Jay. I was pulling for you even without donating to deank but that's a nice touch. It always bugged me deank was never allowed in these contests because he releases his work elsewhere first. I really liked your release by the way and hope to see more from you

We want to see more contestants, and see those that do enter, enjoying the process. This contest came to fruition because there was a lack of new homebrew in the scene, and we wanted to get people excited about the PS3-Scene all over again.

As for not letting someone win twice in a row, I think that it should be allowed, as it will help inspire competition... at least that is my take on it. So far we have not had any problems with one person winning back-to-back contests. But I feel if someone was able to pull that off, then it would probably be well deserved.

The main thing, is we do not want to hinder anyone, that would otherwise be entering their application into the contest. On the contrary, this contest was created with the intention of inspiring more people to look at the homebrew side of the PS3, and even try out there hand in creating something someone might find useful... or hell, even just fun.

As for updates to their previous work, that should fall on the authors. If they want to release multiple projects in one month, they can do that. If they want to work with the moderator/admin team, and update a previous entry in the same month, then they can choose to do that.

The main point here is FREEDOM. Freedom to enter a small tiny little piece of homebrew, or to enter a massive homebrew project. Freedom for the users to vote for themselves. Freedom for the winner to be selected by his peers, and not a moderator or admin team.

In my eyes, this contest is getting progressivly better... but if someone does not agree with me, feel free to let me know in the proper way, as I will always try to show anyone the same respect they show me, if not more

And that my friends, is MY BUCK-FIFTY.

A buck fifty tk, wow that must be a lot then, normally its just 2 cents. Thank you Jay-Jay for the donation, and congratulations to you and crashserious for coping second and first prize(respectively). Good stuff by ThatOtherDev/ThatOtherPerson, for securing third. To those of you who didn't win better luck next time., there is always hope for next month. Good luck and congratulations to you all.

I figure two cents is not going to get you anywhere. People can actually use a buck-fifty. Speaking of two cents, just so we are all clear, mathie(whatever his name his) started using that, and basically coined it as a cool term for people to use on the ps3-scene. I was tired of that phrase the first time he said it (right around QA flagging). Nothing against math personally, actually on the contrary... he uses the term correctly, and usually only says it when he has given exactly two points, hence... two cents. But me, I am the kind of guy who would rather give you the whole buck-fifity. It is easy to imagine what you could get with a buck-fifty. I would not even want to think what to tell someone what they could do with two cents Nothing personal to anyone, I am just trying to get a better phrase out there, one that people can actually use correctly. One where you do not have to do the math

      On that note:

Thanks to everyone who participated in this month's contest. We are all grateful for your work, and dedication to the scene. We hope to see everyone back next month, and many more. Congratulations to the winners, and I hope we can continue to see a CLEAN contest.
