i resigned to 430....will start up. but after u choose the server and password, just goes back to regular xmb........is there something else i need to do, are no instructions with it

If there are any updates on this would be cool to know. Could be a better solution to the Media Servers if you could just show things played directly from your computer.

What kind of server are you using? I'd like to try this out on a Mac and see if it works. I'd also have to, of course, resign to 4.30

pc app with the same logo.......couldnt get it to work, just goes back to xmb.......unless im configuring it wrong on the pc.....or doesnt really work with windows 7.......but giving up, lol, it doesnt work for me

What did you use to resign it? I tried using RazorX's tool but it doesn't work. It resigns it, yes, but I can't even get it to run. I tried resigning the EBOOT using both options too.

Can you post the pkg you re-signed?

yea use the latest razor x...its back in the posts a little bit on the main page......i couldnt get it to work with unpacking, and repacking.....so i unpacked, put the eboot in the main folder and ran again and resigned it....then i put the eboot in the original hd0 folder of vnc on the ps3(replaced)....and started for me....but just kicks back to xmb........if you find a way to get it to work after resigning, let me know

resigning it doesn't work at all for me. It won't even start. I'll try it your way and see if I can get it to connect to my computer

You should try it again. Your method worked for me on OS X. I can see my screen. Can't use the mouse or anything as of yet. I'm going to connect a USB mouse and Keyboard and see how it goes. I wasn't able to move the mouse with the D-Pad or analog sticks.

Yeah, connected a mouse to the PS3 and it moves in a reasonable fashion. It's not full-screen though. I don't know if that's because I'm using the free VNC. But the response time on the screen is fast here on my connection because I'm typing this message while it's showing on the TV Screen. Something cool for Skype or something like that I guess. I'll keep playing around with it and see if I can get it to show full-screen but you should try it again.

I just did what you said, re-signed the eboot as npdrm to 4.30 and then ftp'd it in the usrdir folder and it worked.

Okay, so the D-Pad does act as the mouse "O" is how you 'right-click', 'X' is to select something...

Didn't exactly have the best results trying to watch a movie though. Tested it with a BluRay version of 300 and the VLC player. Laggy....

Decent for showing pics directly from your computer though. The amount of lag could be my connection but I don't think my connection is that bad. I have a 100mBit plan which means I probably actually get about 35-40 or something so I think that should be reasonable.

If you change your computer's resolution it automatically disconnects the PS3. I think it's not full-screen on my TV because of the resolution on my computer

I resigned it with 4.20 NPDRM and changed the PARAM.SFO to 4.30 instead of 1.50. Seems to be working now. No 800.1007-9 or other 800XXXX errors.

I'm running win 7 64 bit. with rebug 4.21 and its working good, aside from the screen being small and in the upper right corner. What problem are you having? is it running and quitting or is it giving you an 800xxxxx error?

Edit: working with USB wireless mouse on PS3.

On OS X I just used the default settings. I just installed it and then connected to it and that was it. When you run it, look on your PC and see if you get any pop-ups about active connections. You should get a pop-up telling you that 'something' has connected to your computer.
I didn't try it through my Win 7 Virtual machine just because I can still control that through the connection with the Mac without having to make a separate connection.
But try changing your resolution and see if that helps. The resolution on my laptop is 1280x800.

i got it to work, lol i had typed the password wrong, didnt relize it.........as for incorporating in mm, it kind of already is.....mmras and mmras server does the same thing and connects from MM thru aldos tools on ur pc....it also does the reverse...ps3 on your pc screen......so this is nothing new really.....neither mmras nor vlc apps r fast enough to play netflix or internet video streaming thru....tho mmras seems a little faster with the video part, and no sound but thru the laptop speakers of course...havent tried ps3 games to the pc monitor...but not sure why u would want to do that really and doubt it would keep up......this is all on windows 7

I don't think I was explaining my self well. I know about the mmras but i didnt know you could use it in the reverse, like have multiman with a window of your desktop open on it, if that's not the case then I am confused on what your saying. I mainly wanted to say it would be great if that functionality in mM could be incorporated into a VNC like program were drag and drop could be used like a few other VPN appz out there.

Btw, once you type your ip and password does it kick you back to XMB and then let you open it normally? or does it let you type in the info and go right into VNC? Mine was the former but now its 50/50... weird eh?
I know this is just another program that will maybe be forgoten in a week, but I find it somewhat helpful, especially when I have to work on my moms laptop with out having to turn off my PS3

Also, I finally broke down and made a youtube video of it working when I finally got the resigner working right with it.. *grumble. I suppose it was for the greater good, not really

Oh no, I'm on Rebug 4.30.2 (was on 4.30.1 at the time of my previous post). I did scott7seven's method and resigned the eboot to 4.30 and then transferred the into directly into the folder on the PS3. I didn't repackage the pkg. I installed the original, re-signed the eboot and then moved only the signed eboot to the folder in the ps3 file system. That's how we got it to work.
