UPDATE: PSChannel v1.02 has been released (more information and downloads below).

Following his release of the Source code for PSchannel (1st gift). Developer Deroad has released a compiled PKG of PSChannel v1.01 Brewology Version; which will consist of content from Brewology.

This is my Real second gift.

what is PSChannel ?

is a software that i wrote to allow users to download homebrews directly on their ps3, without needing a pc. it's like the Sony PS Store. An Opensource Homebrew Store.
this software is free and I will NEVER ask for money.

This version is just a little different from the one in my git due the request from the admin of Brewology (this means also that i will not release the source code of this version, but all the fix i will do in the future, will be done also on the code in my repository)

All the server side components provided by The Brewology Store (Brewology.com).

i have tested this only on 3.55. i don't know if it will work on newer firmwares; if not, i will try to add 4.xx compatibility.

Works on Rogero 4.30 v2.03 with resigned eboot.

Looks great from your side deroad! Great Job!! very nice release

Only a few small issues and i think the would have to be fixed by brewology?

No labels on releases for what CFW &
Appears most downloads are for 3.55. (could be why no labels). However still a great release and im sure will mature with a bit time.

How can i connect to the internet in mM and PSchannel, and not connect the PS3(PSN) to the internet??

all the homebrews should be for 3.55 since they are old.
i'll try to update it and maybe add the request version on the next version.

You can have your PS3 online without signing in to PSN

I always wanted to connect mM and other homebrew to the internet, but i'm afraid that the PS3 would ask me to do a FW update, or ban me because it could see that i use a CFW. So, please tell me how can i be safe.

Neither are working for REX 4.21, I try to extract the PKG and resign but all apps crash when running the NPDRM. Anyone able to extract the contents?

Ok no matter what I do I can't extract this it just keeps making the eboot.bin massive sizes using all known tools. So I made a work around for 4.21 REX users. Simply install the unsigned version then go to MM and go to hdd0:/games/PSCHANNEL/USDIR and replace the eboot there with this one and I have resigned and it works fine.

Not the most elegant way but hey it works fine till someone can re-pkg it signed for 4.21 users. The GH version just gives and error every time I try to install.

thnx for the eboot it works on rebug 4.21 & love this already!! But Theme is a bit ugly no offense but Im making a new theme for this..

@bitsbubba & deroad here is the eboot i resigned and works on rogero 4.30 v2.03.

I was going to make a PKG but the content ID doesnt work with aldostools (tools i was using) its likes the 4 letter 5 numeric format.

The only way to be 100% safe is to either NEVER connect or load up the newest OFW and have fun with what OFW can offer.

With that said..................
I have been running my CFW PS3 online almost constantly since the first CFW came out with no issues of being banned.
Simply make sure you have auto-update turned off and DO NOT have automatic sign in checked in the PSN menu.

I do almost all of my mM updates online and have updated almost all of the games I have stored on my drive with zero issues.
Updating the games is not something I would recommend unless you have the latest CFW and are aware of the consequences (and the necessary means of correction) of doing so.
I have also been dabbling some with online gaming (NO black Ops 2!!!!!!!).

With Homebrew, PSChannel and mM you should have no issues with going online.

I would not worry about it.

I have been doing quite a bit of messing around on PSN lately on the CFW console.
I really have no fear of it being banned because I do have an OFW console sitting right next to it.

Good luck and have fun.
If you are into homebrew and such, you really should try out PSChannel. It is worth it.

I will add that I have been watching a rather large amount of Netflix on the CFW PS3 lately. Guess what........ it REQUIRES you to be signed in on PSN.
Again, not something I would recommend if you are worried about getting a ban dropped on you.
I am just trying to push the envelope and see how far I can go with it.

Oh no worries wasn't meaning it in a demeaning form, and tis better to have more options is it not? So my hats off to you sir, TY for the added link as you seem to have ran into the same problems as me and did the same method.

Please redownload the 1.02 version (from where you want) because i noticed a problem with a libcurl, and that problem doesn't allow to download some homebrew. now it's fixed. (on the store you will see the 1.02 Fix version)
