No_One, the anonymous hacker who released a PDF "Theory for Dual Firmware PS3" two months ago, returns today. No_One has contacted PSX-SCENE, with information about a great new release, the PNM Project, the "PS3 NOR Manager" Project. This new piece of hardware has been designed to help us further explore the PlayStation3 NOR FLASH, and find more exploitable areas that are hidden with our consoles. PNM is open-hardware and open-source. With advancements in being able to DUMP/COPY your PS3 (NOR), as well as downgrade methods, the possibility of 3.6x+ Key Decryption/CFW, and even a true Dual Firmware are closer then ever.

PS: This the dynamic switch between the 2 NOR that will probably lead to 3.6x+ keys decryption/CFW but also to a TRUE dual firmware management ;-)
PPS: No other hardware (Infectus, Progskeet...) can manage what PNM do.
It is quite different than these products. Functions in PNM will be much more advanced.
Again, everything will be FREE in some weeks !!!

great ,so now we have 2 new infectus like hardware devices comming out, so which one is better? and i still am not sure how either one could lead us any closer to 3.6x keys or a dual boot ofw/cfw or cfw as they claim ,not to be negative or anythingthe other funny thing is that this guys SN is " no_one " ,but how does he expect to remain anonymous if he is planning on selling this thingyeah just make the check out to no one ,and send it to nowhere , the product should arrive whenever

He said it's open hardware, open source, and he's releasing the PDF soon. I'm not sure which of those screams "selling" to you, but it appears as though schematics are going to be freely available to whoever wants to order the FPGA from Altera and give it a shot.

well i thought since there was a picture of a professionally produced board that they would be selling that board in the picture, not that i see any reason why they should have to remain anonymous in the first place, i mean isnt this not really much different than an infectus?what the hell are they afraid of , why have to remain anon? except that it can be used on multiple or any nand or nor machines?

No_One is releasing this. The anonymous he and I refer to in the article, are the ones that released the Dual Firmware Theory PDF.

What's the problem with somebody wanting to remain anonymous?

Regardless of the legality... Geohot didn't break any laws, but look where he ended up.

As for the picture, perhaps it's best not to make assumptions? Where is selling mentioned anywhere?

In fact, reading all of your responses, why did you even bother replying? Could you be more negative.

I'll be watching with interest, and when the combined works from these guys, and others who quietly research behind the scenes leads to dual booting, new cfw, and anything else that follows I'll be happy, and I'll be able to expand my own knowledge learning from them knowing I didn't flame then fir something as stupid as why they hide there identity, or anything at all for that matter.

like i said i am not trying to be negative and i also hope that this will lead to some sort of dual boot ,without having to solder somethin in , like sneek/uneek or mighty channels for wii or a cfw or both ,would be nice to be able to have a dual boot that can let you boot either from the real nand/nor or from a virtual or an emulated one that resides on the hdd,instead of having to physically have another 2nd nand/nor chip soldered in, either this or the other board that is out ,they seem awful similar to each other .only progskeet seems to have a ton of solder points on it.

so which do you think is more promising , or is it still too early to tell ?or are they about the same ?

and if there is soldering involved i hope someone would come out with a chip clip ,like some of the wii mod chips have, that just clips on to the ic's that have a ton of tiny pins really close to each other and are tiny smt components , much easier than soldering ,and there is less chance you will damage the chip with heat from soldering

greenoli, yes it should eventually fix bricks from bad cfw loads etc... thing i like is if we can get dual fws then its one step closer to lv0 and stopping this cat n mouse game for good. from what i know, if that happens, the only way so ny can stop cfws is to do a hardware mod. thats very expensive and i dont see it coming anytime soon. not to mention how many MILLIONS of current ps3s are out there right now. i have an e model so the infectus would save my ass if needed it.
