You should put in the article he wants people to use the link or the web column to save himself bandwidth and stuff.

Btw, i like the "iris fix" he applied. I bet it doesn't even slow down multiman. Now, there's one game i'm gonna retry discless that only worked with a disc in hopes that it will skip install data.

How would using the Web column or link SAVE bandwidth?

The downloads from the link and the web column are from sendspace. If you update using mM's "UPDATE" function it overloads the mM update server as usual when about 14000 to 20000 users try to download it at the same time. Then cover downloads, game updates, showtime updates and web-column updates suffer, because they all depend on mM's server.

The homebrew scene would be scattered if not for Dean. You'd need 5+ programs to do what multiman does in one and it keeps getting better. Hope to see direct boot improved upon that'd kick ass.

@jensen76 i guess you didn't see the mediafire link i have as a mirror. Usually mirror from same provided are useless most times. As Mediafire actually only save that file once. Thats why when you uploaded that file it was instant, Where when i uploaded it i had to wait as i was first to upload that one to mediafire cloud

Ahh that makes sense @deank .

Will add a PSX-Scene mirror as well. (was giving me issues a bit ago)
      Brewology adding now

No worries & no need to be sorry. You were trying to help. @jensen76 .

Wasn't like you were that one guy who would post capped 50kb/s downloads and claim they were fast

is that when you tried discless?

when i try a game discless that needs a disc, i just get black screen.

btw, i do love the new look where app_home gets replaced by a disc. it makes it look more clean.

The update should make some games work discless (just like all the previous updates). It will not fix all. Also make sure to delete game-data for the games that you test. I released the update because it makes another 5-10 games work and it is enough as a reason.

For example I can't get NFS:MW to load discless, although a lot of users said they have no issues loading it from app_home. It depends on game-region, ps3-region, installed updates and other things I guess...

Make sure that "Redirection of /app_home" option in Setting is set to "Enable".

      Thanks for this!

However, i don't know if this is merely coincidence, but right after i updated MM from 04.20.02 to 04.20.04 my Bluray just died.

Had a disc loaded - i don't much use discs anymore, just have it in there when i load a game from the Ext HD once in a while, but mostly i use my console to stream movies - and by accident i pressed on play game when i just started up my console.
The game that was in the slot, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, wanted to download an update (1.01).
As i just wanted to watch a movie i canceled the update (pressing the O key). After i returned to the xmb screen my disc icon was gone..
The drive ejects and accepts discs just fine, the blue LED lids up, so it sees a disc loaded, but it seems it doesn't read them anymore.

I have a PAL CECHG02 (2007), that runs on Rogero's 4.30 2.05 CFW.. I guess in all the years i have this console i maybe played games from the original disc for about 40 hours total.. the rest of the games i have, about 10, i have ripped with MM and play from Ext HD (rarely).. so again i merely use my console for streaming movies, and maybe play games once per month

Anyone experienced the same when updating MM, or is my Bluray drive's laser dead?
However, i don't think my drive has worn-out after so little usage.

p.s. excuse me for any grammatical errors. English is not my native language.

Awesome updated showtime and was blessed with this. Between MM, Showtime, and RetroArch my PS3 is happy and has so many useless apps gone. I dread the day the MM server goes down :-/ But till then thanks for all your hard work it is nice to see. I still laugh at everyone saying it is bloated, there is a difference between bloated and chalked full of useful features!!

retroarch is the only app i use outside of multiman pretty much cause i just have too many games. i mean, i know you can browse by folder in MM, but i figure if i'm not using it how it's intended, i'll just use the separate one. that and i like to play VB in 3d.
i do usually quit to multiman though right after
