Dude, there hasn't been a banwave since 2009.

To elaborate on this, there are many possible reasons - the biggest two being that MS can no longer reasonably determine the difference between originals and properly made backups, and they're more interested in making games no longer boot via AP2.5 (which has already been defeated, and many publishers are choosing to stick with XGD2 in order to save money).

It seems as though MS has played all their cards already. XGD3 was a jump that was rather iffy, and we were aware of it 2 years before they played it. They were beaten immediately, and we haven't seen anything else that indicates a 'next move'. Nobody's been able to theorize anything that could post a significant threat in quite some time, either. I must agree GhaleonX. The Xbox 360 seems to be the way to go. All I see in this forum and other PS3 forums is members fighting with each other. Boy the PS3 scene is nothing but flame wars between members & Dongle makers.

Why is there always so much news about nothing on these forums? I have been following Xbox 360 forums and I don't see tons of post and I don't see all the bickering like I see here and other PS3 Forums.

I have been thinking of selling my PS3 3.55 CFW system, as I don't even play it at all. I play my PS3 4.11 OFW and my modded Xbox 360.


Here is what I think people are trying to keep a dead scene alive and it's just making it worse maybe letting it die or stop this garbage postings can save it.

I have been around the warez scene for over 25 + years and I have seen a lot of bickering but not like I see on the PS3 Scene.

This scene is SHIT! I love the PS3, but I'm so tired the jailbreak thing that I bought a 360 and I DO NOT intend to jailbreak or mod it anyway! My games work, they are not that expensive anymore, there is no worry about updates and bans and I can get a lot of fun whenever I want it! End of story!

We keep complaining about those big companies and the things they do to get a lot of $$$$ from people, but the only hackers that are advancing in the jailbreak scene want the same thing: $$$$. They just don't have the same power as M$ and $CE!

There was one last year in September/August. AP2.5 took more than one try to beat, and by that I mean that they repatched AP2.5 games (Not a big deal). That was early 2011. Now explain why my Xbox, and six of my friends' Xboxs were banned in late August if there was no ban wave? Also, you can search the time period on Google, there were a LOT of bans at once. Definitely enough to call a ban wave.
I would also like to note that the wave was specific to Call of Duty: WaW and GTA IV.

Actually, there was ANOTHER ban wave right before Halo: Reach came out. There has been one every year.

I have a TB Dongle and have played FF 12-2 and Tales of Graces f and had no problems. I think JB-King is trying to scare TB users because JB-King screwed over their own customers.

After a year of no progress, no glimts of "cfw" - I don't get why people still have hope for a free way of playing games. Why do we, PS3 users, have to have a free way of playing games? Anything else, cost money in extra hardware in order to either mod or play backup games.

You sir are exactly a prime example of how I weep for the new generation of these 90s/2k children and fear the direction the future scene may develop...First off you have no fawking clue what your talking about, pretty much every scene has a 'keep it free' method of modding your hardware. The wii is a simple install of the homebrew channel and cios's, the x360 is a quick firmware flash and even the good ol jtag method information is free you just buy some parts like resistors and wiring, the psp scene there have been tons of different revisions of free cfw, now the nds you needed a flash cart but they can be found cheap and heres a good example of no other options but these ps3 dongles are for DRM only, there is no need for the hardware which also leads me to my other point of you not knowing what the fawk your talking about about saying you hope they figure out how to copy/clone the dongles so we can make out own dongles.....dumbass if they crack the drm there is no need to make our own dongles cause the dongle only exists as DRM for their profiteering asses. God i weep for the future with this new generation of clueless asshats spouting quotes like 'GhayB-King'.
