    Some exciting news came our way earlier; an upset "Sony" employee has released very detailed information involving the inner workings of the PS4. Although not really useful to the average scener, in the right hands this could be extremely useful. At the same time sharing this information publicly could perhaps put the said individual at an extreme risk, and they would prefer to remain as anonymous as possible.



    Instead, we have shared the information in our private dev forums, and all those with the developer badge have be able to look and take a peek at this exclusive information. In only a few hours, two developers (who would like to remain as anonymous as well) here at the site were able to come up with the first working viable PS4 homebrew solution, and have been able to launch their own code. After some testing they think they are ready the share with you all what they have achieved so far...

    This download includes instructions as well as links to the various tools required to pull this off, as well on information how to obtain dev status and see the leaked insider information for yourself.

    Note: If all goes smooth over the next 24 hours, the "Sony" employee has said he will leak the information to other scene sites as well, such as Kotaku.com

    UPDATE 1: A method for Dumping PS Vita Games via PS4 has been added, along with more methods to unlock your PS4. Download link above.

    UPDATE 2: First PS4 Backup Launched! (NOTE: Due to current understanding, shared backups are not playable because of the per-system key required for the console to authorize each disc for play... BUT, at least now their is an option to play your games disc-less and from an external drive). More information will be added when the developers feel it is ready. For now, the download has been updated again to include the latest links and tools required.

    UPDATE 3: I have went ahead and added a direct download link for all non-members... this way even those having trouble signing up for an account can view this information.

    UPDATE 4: This will probably be the last update for the night, but it is an incredible one. PS Vita backup support has been enabled, and shared backups are working as well. Only time will tell if we see PS Vita backup support on the PS Vita... but for now, Sony, all your base are belong to us. Ha ha...

    UPDATE 5: Note 2 has been removed. Discussion is now open to the public.

      There is more amazing work going on behind the scenes right now, and the download will be updated again in several hours with more information.

      @STLcardsWS I've known people who had worked for Sony's PlayStation division in the past...notice the words HAD and PAST there. From what they told me, it is easy to see why someone could get upset with them. I can share more details in a PM if you wish.

      I have to say this is going to catch many off guard. Myself including as i thought it would be much later for the PS4.

      Cool news, but I'm having some trouble. I put the PDF in a folder called /PS4/UPDATE/ on my 5.25" and placed it in the PS4 disc drive (after some considerable effort). I've run the update, but now I can't get the floppy out. Am I stuck using this or can I go back to OFW at some point?

      I still can't believe this. Hacked in the first 6 months. Wow! Guess I'm going to have to pony up for a PS4 before the exploit is fixed.

      It reminds me of when we broke the news about @geohot and 3.55. Things started happening really fast, and we even got a fully unlocked PSP out of it all.

      Speaking of which, it looks like with this new information, not only is the PS4 scene moving ahead rapidly, but the PS Vita scene is taking huge steps too.

      I believe by the end of today we might see an actual PS Vita exploit, not just another PSP kernal exploit for the system. Fingers crossed everything goes smooth

      These guys are incredible. Still working hard on the PS Vita side of things as well.
