True Blue Firmware 2.62 - Expect More EBOOT Patches Soon!

Team True Blue is back today with some major news about the EBOOT patches for their dongle, as well a firmware update for their dongle as well. They have announced that the recent lack of EBOOT patches was actually due to a compatibility issue, one that they have now fixed with this dongle firmware update.

True Blue dongle firmware v2.62 has been released. Changes include:

• Fixed a major game compatibility issue which will allow the release of several popular, previously incompatible titles
• Improved system stability

Recently, EBOOT patches have slowed due to a compatibility issue which prevented recent games from running on 3.55 CFW. This issue has been resolved as of this firmware release, thus we strongly recommend that everyone update their True Blue dongles as soon as possible in anticipation of the upcoming batch of releases.

I wouldn't waste my pish on this if it was on fire.

Still cant quite work out why Sony hasnt ran these guys out of town yet. It's a strange one.

I have to +1 this. This was a big release. The only reason I can see that this wasn't patched yet is because they had trouble with it. Maybe this new special compatibility dongle update will allow for this game. I sure hope!

Sorry to say that it was already available on a special BR disc. I think that the only hope for a Resistance 3 eboot patch won't come from PARADOX but will come from our friend that released Arkham City and Ace Combat patches or from another source.

Why the TB special discs are not avaliable any longer? I wish I had at least one of these discs! If anyone wants to sell one to me I pay trough paypal! Sorry as a geek I even love to collect not only original copies of games. XD

OK, so I'm just about convinced to buy one now but for a couple of very noob questions.

Can I just copy a game to the HDD via MM and then put the TB eboot in the right place? (After installing the TB FW of course). I do realize that some don't work from the internal. I just want to know if a straight rip via MM is all that's needed.

Is the TB CFW incompatible with older releases such as EXETrimAll releases and <3.55 games (or anything that works on KMEAW 3.55). Or do all older <3.55 games need special TB eboots?

@tomservo6 - you got it right on the first question. Second question - everything previously released still works. Some things work better, and some that didn't work at all before are now working. Can't get more specific than that but you'll be in really good shape if you pick one up. Just make sure you buy the real original TB from a reliable vendor. There were some counterfeits floating around and the knockoffs will give you problems.

Lightake should be avoided at least for the time being. There's been some strange behavior on their website and besides that shipping takes over a month from China to US

Modchipcentral was my choice. It's about the 3rd time I've bought something from them and they are reliable. They are based in Canada and it's a quick ship to the US.

Btw, I really hope the True Blue team takes their disc releases and extracts the needed mojo from them to place in normal True Blue patches and releases those much to the satisfaction of their billions and billions of True Blue users.

They're very good. Got mine from ModChipsDirect. Shipped the next day and only took 3 days to arrive from California to North Carolina using standard postal service.

I hope they do release those disc eboots since they're pretty much relics now. I was lucky to snag 3 of them from lightake right before they were removed. Funny thing about that was Arkham City was in that order and I received it something like 3 or 4 days before the unofficial eboot patch was put out. Sucks, but at least I still got 2 other games so $30 wasn't that bad for that

This is just a pure excuse. Even if they've problems with new games, they still could release old games patch like; Spider-man Edge of Time, Naruto (US/EU), PES, etc.

about a half hour north of Raleigh. Just came up from Tampa Fl in September. The cold over the winter kicked my ass and still getting used to the country living but it's nice here

I just have to chime in and say modchipcentral is great,I bought my TB there- and an e3 card reader from them back in the 341 days-Both times I got my product in 3 days (ATL area).

Sweet. I've been to Tampa a few years ago. That's a huge ass bridge over the bay! But yea, I got my TB from ModChipCentral and it got here within the week. My bank charged extra since it was an "International Purchase" but what the hey, still satisfied.

thanX to TB.. i can actually play rage. woo hoo (i know your saying that game sucks but, whatever.)
not sure if the oolder FW had problems coping games, i would always get a error to external and once in a while internal too.)
went back to kmeaw and dumped game. i willl check later to see if it copies no prob to external. then i would def. give a 2 thums up

yeah, I got used to 85/90 degree plus weather in the winter so it was definitely an adjustment. People keep telling me you get used to it, but I don't really buy that BS.

they are still available on lighttake website i had spiderman edge of time delivered the other day there is only that 1 and x-men destiny available though

i agree. Modchipcentral is the best and fastest place to get TB. I got mine in 7 days. I know I babbled and complained in the past about TB not being on their game, but reading their latest news it only proved one point. I am a IMPATIENT PERSON! LOL. Sorry I doubted. I can't wait to see what's in store for us next. Prototype 2, nice. I just didn't want to buy another PS3 just so I could play my 3.6+ games that haven't been patched. I've held out on buying Prototype 2 cause I knew I couldn't play it yet without the patch. I don't mind supporting developers but I don't want to invest in another PS3. Hope everyone understands that. Anyway, I hope TB does a good job in the coming days. Seeing the update and another patch means they are up to something. I am real anxious to see what they have been cooking!
