True Blue Firmware 2.4 & True Blue Responds to JB-King

The True Blue team have released an official statement regarding the new clone of their dongle, the JB-King. The True Blue team have already released an updated firmware 2.4, as well as new game patches that will not be compatible with the JB-King dongle.

Official statement regarding the True Blue clone "JB King"

The True Blue team has received samples from the retail market of the True Blue clone "JB King". The device is not a 1:1 clone, as this is impossible without having the hardare source code. Rather the device is a poor imitation based on partial logs of traffic and guesswork of the logic. The trouble with this approach is that the security infrastructure and logic commands are not fully understood by the cloners, which means that customers purchasing this device will not enjoy the full features of the True Blue in coming updates.

Of course, the first step taken will be to block future game patches from working with this clone. This weeks releases which include some big titles will not function with JB King as from True Blue firmware version 2.4 upwards.

The True Blue team has full control of EBOOT decryption and we can and will lock out any current and future clones. With many yet unannounced features to come, it would be prudent for customers to invest in a product with a real development team behind it offering continual support, thorough testing and providing the latest patches and features.

True Blue dongle firmware v2.4 is available from the downloads page. We recommend updating as soon as possible as this firmware will be required for any future game releases.

@ DCgh0st... right after the little rant they just gave it makes me want sony to crack a whip at them....who the f do they think they are saying the new games will only work with the fw update (sony) themselfs....pirates pissed that pirates copy them wtf....thats why there are devs working with open source...hope one of them cracks the new fw soon just to put this bull shit company out of business

Of course, it's not really the same, since updating your TB will not make you lose any features.

Man I thought I got jipped cuz right after I sucked it up and purchased tb last week, the frickin next day jbking was announced! I was pissed haha! But cool news that it's not a 1/1. And I should be getting my tb within the hour to my door Happy jailbreaking!

You know what the changelog says for this update.

- v2.4

* Stability improvements
* Enhanced dongle security

Thankfully you update the dongle using the PS3 and not a computer as they probably would only update with a PC app and I don't have a PC. I have a Mac.

what a joke pirates pissed off other pirates, total nonsense I will wait for a cfw because its just crazy for me to buy a dongle that runs only a list of games with crap fixes.

you all forget that the tb has legal uses... it helps people wanting linux/homebrew on there ps3 on 3.55 be able to play some of the latest games, or run backups from the hdd, alot of work went into the device and if we support clones, we will never advance to another CFW.

(yeh very few people use it for legal purposes, im not stupid)

jb-king is a fail in my books.
