The True Blue team is back today with their latest firmware release, version 2.7. With this release, comes the promised clone-checking feature, as well as another update that will fix game compatability for recent 4.xx games. You can find out more information below on how to tell if you dongle is a clone or the real-thing by downloading the latest firmware, and following the simple instructions below.

About True Blue Firmeware v2.7:

True Blue dongle firmware v2.7 has been released. Changes include:

True Blue dongle authenticity status displayed on PS3 XMB system information screen
Fixed yet another important game compatibility issue affecting recent 4.xx games

The authenticity status display can be used to determine if your True Blue dongle is either authentic or a clone. For further details, see the information page.

Q: How can I verify that my True Blue is authentic and not a clone?

A: Install True Blue dongle firmware v2.7 or later. Then in the PS3 XMB, navigate to Settings -> System Settings -> System Information. Next to the "System Software" version will be information relating to your True Blue dongle. If your dongle is authentic then it will display something like "True Blue v2.7" (this will vary depending on the version of the dongle firmware you have installed). If your dongle is a clone then it will display "True Blue CLONE" as shown in the following image:

Dat wud tak da fun out of it. All you need to know is those TB discs will be a thing of the past very soon. Patience my friend

I'm not yanking anybody's chain. God honest truth. We have an anonymous friend that wants to stay anonymous so it's not gonna do any good to keep asking me. Just know that as soon as they're ready you guys will be the first to know

Hello Guys, I have an issue with mine and want to share, and ideas of solutions of course...
Saying at start i did it calm,(now i'm a bit worried) so please don't say to "wait 10 seconds to PS3 recognize the Hardware", believe me i did it.

I was in update 2.5 and yesterday i tried to update to v2.7 and after the update, when ask to press cross and sistem will reboot, and then black screen.

I tried in many ways, power without dongle and inserted when asked, without unplug the dongle, and in left usb port the update freeze at 23%.

So guys, thats it, any other information ask me.

You have Rebug spoofer installed? Make sure you uninstall it if you do. I've seen where people have to upgrade in stages. If you look at the link you can change the number to get the downloads you need. You should try to go to 2.60, then 2.62, then 2.70 and see if that helps. If you can't get 2.70 installed at all for some reason, then you should still be able to use a lower version

Yes i have Rebug Spoofer, and i tried the v2.62 to see if works, but same result. Thanks, i'll post if worked.

props to the TB team for placing a non destructive test into the new firmware to detect clones. that is how to do things right.

That's what your problem is then. I had the same issue when I first installed 2.6. The new dongle firmware includes a spoofer so you won't need rebug's spoofer anymore anyway. Go ahead and uninstall it

I bought a TB and my wife left me, my cat died, the car was repossed and my house looks like a rummage heap and is going into forecloser. It's all TrueBlue's fault! Damn you TB!

If you bought a jb2usb, you wasted your money. This is not compatible and more than likely no future updates will be either. Sorry

Man so many of these TB threads lead to hating and crying.....Too those that say they aren't fast enough on Eboots.....well that could have something to do with the work they are doing to make this shit work.....Also they have not in many cases been that slow. Some releases have taken time, but hell ME3 was out right around the retail release and there have been others as well. The library of working eboots is now over 125 and that is 125 games you would never have been able to play on your CFW machine. Just be patient. I bought a few of their BDR games early and they worked great, whats to complain about? Also last week they even released what I think is the first PSN TB patches. Their are patches for Tekken TagHD full game and the Tekken Tag 2 prologue demo that are TB specific. Ok...so max payne is out and they said they had some trouble with latest 4+ stuff but worked thru it. I would imagine we will se MP3 eboot in the next batch.

Also to those asking about DLC. You can find Batman AC, ME3, and other DLC that works with TB games. Look around and in some cases you need to generate your own rif files so you will need rap2rif or reactpsn. Do the homework and you will find plenty of DLC for your CFW PS3....lol. And quit bitchin and saying the scene is dead...there is still plenty of life in the PS3 scene.

Bahumat Lord... i am waiting for my TB but i some time ago i received a jb2usb, it was a present, what i want to know is if know i need to downgrade or i can install the updates of TB on top of the old one from jb2usb

Once you get your TB, you can just install the TB PS3 firmware over top of what you have now and then update your dongle with this update. Just don't try to use it on jb2usb. It's not safe

My jb2usb is gonna learn how to fly... lol i will launch it from a bridge... that way no one will be using that crappy dongle

Thanks again Bahumatlord! I uninstaled Rebug Spoofer and updated, no black screen, but i did to do again (pressed R1) reactpsn for my dlc, because it stoped towork, but now its OK.
