The True Blue team is back today with their latest firmware release, version 2.7. With this release, comes the promised clone-checking feature, as well as another update that will fix game compatability for recent 4.xx games. You can find out more information below on how to tell if you dongle is a clone or the real-thing by downloading the latest firmware, and following the simple instructions below.

About True Blue Firmeware v2.7:

True Blue dongle firmware v2.7 has been released. Changes include:

True Blue dongle authenticity status displayed on PS3 XMB system information screen
Fixed yet another important game compatibility issue affecting recent 4.xx games

The authenticity status display can be used to determine if your True Blue dongle is either authentic or a clone. For further details, see the information page.

Q: How can I verify that my True Blue is authentic and not a clone?

A: Install True Blue dongle firmware v2.7 or later. Then in the PS3 XMB, navigate to Settings -> System Settings -> System Information. Next to the "System Software" version will be information relating to your True Blue dongle. If your dongle is authentic then it will display something like "True Blue v2.7" (this will vary depending on the version of the dongle firmware you have installed). If your dongle is a clone then it will display "True Blue CLONE" as shown in the following image:

I kinda knew anyone due to the place i bought mine from but nice to see i have the real thing

How about some more eboot patches for games we actually want to play ... Max Payne, Ghost Recon, UFC 3, Dragons Dogma to name a few?

yeah at this rate i will of completed max payne before we get the eboot lol
had to take my main ps3 into the other room to play it the other day so annoying when theres a ps3 sat there already.

It really is looking like the trueblue is not useless but not good either.

they take ages to release a patchs
they focus more on beating clones then on poviding service

I got it so i could play all new games on both my ps3s as i get them this has not been the case last eboot pack wa the first decent pack since i got it and right there i said the true test of it will be how long it takes to release the eboot for max payne (being the first major game to be releasedsince i brought the dongle) .....its still not patched.
there are games that are not patched that have been out months (resistance 3 anyone?)

dont get me wrong im not saying its crap or its really bad (i would and did before the last eboot collection) but its not good either

i totally agree with u man!!! dey focus more on trying to beat clones and making money dan actually releasing eboots soon.. moreover scamming us wid buying extra true blue disc games!!! i mean WTF true blue!!! we already paid for ur 60$ dongles, why make it much harder on us??? arkham city was released last year whereas i played da game on ps3 last month...can u believe dis shit! almost half a year of waiting for dis epic game and even though da eboot was released from an anonymous saint..God bless dat guy! not to mention resistance 3, being a 2011 title, is still unpatched.. :/ um sure all of u agree wid both of us.

Wow..... where to start. It's only been 11 days since the last set of patches. There's many good games that have been patched that I'm sure most people haven't played yet. Those TB discs aren't a scam. It's how the TB first functioned. If they were really greedy and evil, they would have kept releasing everything on those discs. As long as they still have a stock of them they won't release an eboot patch. That's just business. Word is that won't be a problem soon anyway. So den wut u gunna hav da bich abot? Cnt plz sum ppl

Anyway, we're not really going to turn this into a request and b*tch thread, are we? C'mon people, relax. Although I do find it humorous that on other threads, people are actually complaining about the "inconvenience" of the dongle fw update frequency. Really? We're complaining about a process that takes 2 minutes, including the time needed to dl and pop the file on a usb stick? I could understand the frustration if this was a flashed Xbox, and you had to keep opening your console every couple weeks to update the fw, but c'mon!! lol
