My dongle cant pass the 23% insall of upgrade mark, pull my dongle apart and looks to be real, still it hangs at 23% over and over... I installed 2.62 back and thats fine.. ooooohhh well. bbml

I just did mine with no problem. I left my TB in the left slot and didn't bother to unplug my USB drive in the right slot. If you can't get it to work, then boot your PS3 without the dongle and treat it like a completely new install like your dongle shipped blank. Don't insert the dongle until prompted. If still having problems, try a different USB port

Mine did same thing. Froze 23% just rebooted ps3 and it completed next time round

Its funny to think of TB using DRM {Digital Rights Management}, when in fact, they have no rights whatsoever to these eboots they very graciously earn money from. The PS3 homebrew scene is long dead, there are devs out there with the skills/knowledge needed to tear apart the TB device & expose how the device uses copyright protected software to boot newer games. But alas, such people are long gone from the scene, all thats left is children, crooks & profiteers. Granted there are some good things like the psl1ght stuff etc, but for the most part, it's all rubbish

They're still around. They are the one making the clones. Why singled out TB if there's a couple of clones floating around. You know what? From now on I will boycott TB. I will not update my TB until I can't play those new games ( unless they tell me i need to update).

the scene is far from dead...god when are these little wining kids going to realize backups does not = scene...sure most use it for that but the true sceners will be around long after tb is gone (and there will be a time when tb can't modify eboots any more)

Someone really needs to sort out these haters. All they do is cause arguments and trouble where their doesnt need to be any. The news about TB updates should be reserved for people that have something constructive to say about it.

"I'm a top ranking scene member that contributes loads to the research of the PS3 and anything that does otherwise is something i need to get involved in even though im just another kid leeching games where i can but wont tell anyone" isnt constructive

Those that are reporting that the update gets stuck. Here is the solution:

When you get the message to insert the dongle, go ahead insert it, and wait about 10 second before you press the OK. I think what happens is that you guys press OK as soon as you insert the dongle and it doesn't give plenty of time for the PS3 to detect the dongle. Try this next time.

I can vouch for this - the first time when it got stuck on 23% I'd pressed OK straight after plugging in the dongle. The second time round, I waited until the "Unknown USB Device Has Been Connected" message had flashed up 4 times and then disappeared before pressing OK and it worked perfectly.

Just noting I had no issue with the update. Didn't even take my TB dongle out. I just booted up, installed the pkg, loaded it, pressed OK, and it installed. Tested my games and all works fine.

If all these smart devs are still out there hiding, they need to work on a permanent fix to needing patches, a modchip! When PS2 was modded there was no need for patches, updates, blah blah blah. I know the encryption and DRM has changed a lot but I believe it could be done in time. But until then may TB will release some more quality titles after this new update!
