  • True Blue Firmeware v2.7 - Clone Checking Update

The True Blue team is back today with their latest firmware release, version 2.7. With this release, comes the promised clone-checking feature, as well as another update that will fix game compatability for recent 4.xx games. You can find out more information below on how to tell if you dongle is a clone or the real-thing by downloading the latest firmware, and following the simple instructions below.

    About True Blue Firmeware v2.7:
True Blue dongle firmware v2.7 has been released. Changes include:
    • True Blue dongle authenticity status displayed on PS3 XMB system information screen
    • Fixed yet another important game compatibility issue affecting recent 4.xx games

The authenticity status display can be used to determine if your True Blue dongle is either authentic or a clone. For further details, see the information page.
    Additional Information:
Q: How can I verify that my True Blue is authentic and not a clone?

A: Install True Blue dongle firmware v2.7 or later. Then in the PS3 XMB, navigate to Settings -> System Settings -> System Information. Next to the "System Software" version will be information relating to your True Blue dongle. If your dongle is authentic then it will display something like "True Blue v2.7" (this will vary depending on the version of the dongle firmware you have installed). If your dongle is a clone then it will display "True Blue CLONE" as shown in the following image:

True Blue's website is slow as hell and rarely works when under load, so I uploaded the file after spending 20 minutes downloading it to other websites. Links below.

@Secludedly ...yeah your right!!??? Thanks for uploading the links !!!! ....I hope this slows down the clones or stops them once and for all .... though I doubt it. Good to know that at least TB is putting up a fight. Now let's hope more eboots come out.

Its funny to think of TB using DRM [Digital Rights Management], when in fact, they have no rights at all to the very eboots they make money from. There were devs in the scene that could have torn apart this TB device, but the people with the required skills/motivation are long gone.

Its funny to think of TB using DRM {Digital Rights Management}, when in fact, they have no rights whatsoever to these eboots they very graciously earn money from. The PS3 homebrew scene is long dead, there are devs out there with the skills/knowledge needed to tear apart the TB device & expose how the device uses copyright protected software to boot newer games. But alas, such people are long gone from the scene, all thats left is children, crooks & profiteers. Granted there are some good things like the psl1ght stuff etc, but for the most part, it's all rubbish

Hackers are just too scared to exploit the ps3 it has nothing to do with they left the scene! An exploit is an exploit and TB team was the first to release it and without them no new games would have ever been playable through Backup manager. Props to true blue for keeping it real and providing end users the ability to back up their games and pirates the ability to pirate and to give some hope after CFW3.55, No true blue = No scene! NUFF SAID Keep protecting your ish and releasing new eboots and let all the haters hate I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

@hypertryer Thank you so much for that enlightening speech. I think I will destroy my TB dongle and boycott them altogether now after reading both of your posts which are virtually the exact same regurgitation every TB hater spews out. NOT!!

We're lucky to be part of this community for the PS3 and getting easy breaks like we are. Just enjoy what we're lucky to have lol. I don't understand people sometimes. Whatever happens, happens. Instead of developers/crackers/hackers/modders doing things for everyone they can be picking their ass while eating Cheetos instead. Why's it so hard to just say "thank you"? Can't stand disrespectful people. lol.

Humm this 23% worries me i think i will wait going from 2.62 -> 2.70, and i do know i have a original one =) But TrueBlue keeps on delivering stuff for their customers which is a plus and not just letting people hang without knowing.

Oh get over it, there has been 10000X godbillzillion people complaining about this already, but yet no one ever step up to do anything about it. And I gave credit for TB to actually step up and bring us a solution to play the latest game.
