It has been a long time since the last set of updates from team True Blue/Paradox. There was also a complete halt in dongle sales on sites like lilghtake. For several weeks there has been no announcement from Team True Blue themselves until today.

23 - 7 – 2012

The True Blue team will soon be launching an updated version of our dongle, hence our silence and lack of news/updates. The changes include a new style casing to help differentiate clones from the authentic True Blue dongles. The new version dongle will be compatible with EBOOT patches released to date, whilst existing authentic True Blue dongles in the market will continue to be supported in the same firmware releases. You can expect a spate of EBOOT releases shortly after the new version dongle is released. We also plan to include a lot of extra features for our loyal True Blue user base in upcoming firmware releases. which will also function seamlessly on existing authentic True Blue dongles.
We would also like to bring to our potential customers and existing users attention that the website: truebluejb2.cc is selling FAKE dongles. We are in no way associated with them nor will we replace or support their fake dongles.
Information received suggests that they have not yet cloned our new style packaging, so large qty's of devices in the market which do NOT come packed in the packaging detailed below (30-5-2012 news) are most likely fake. We will continue to monitor the situation daily.
The upcoming new firmware releases will also block the clones and help users differentiate fakes from authentic dongles.
Upcoming firmware releases will block these fake devices and furthermore EBOOT's will not support the clones. PB2 and JBking clone devices will also be blocked in the future and will not function correctly with our upcoming features!
We thank our customers for their continuing support and hope you will enjoy the coming features and EBOOT patches.........
The clones sold by truebluejb2.cc can be differentiated by checking the PCB inside the casing using the guide below, as previously posted in news.

What they have said is all very unsurprising. Im glad they will continue to support the old dongles which shows they do value their customers to a certain extent. Of course they are still looking for a monopoly on the dongle market. I for one do get a little annoyed about the silence regarding eboot releases. At the same time however i realise i have so many games to play at all times to keep me occupied for months.

I dont think this new dongle will sell very well because a big majority of the people that were going to buy a true blue dongle already have. Giving PSN might sway people to buy the new dongle but personally i think that can be to easily taken away by Sony to have that as their main selling point.

I dont think true blue have much to worry about regarding the E3 team, they dont seem able to do anything that the true blue team can't, so anything the E3 team do release True blue would be able to match or beat it.

I cant see E3 releasing a CFW for 4.xx or whatever because that would make their "dongle" pointless and E3 like True Blue want to make as much money as they can. I think they said that to gain awareness from people for the projects they actually are working on

... well at least their trying to be proactive and continue with the product than cancel this project all together because of clones & fakes.

I really hope this is the end of it with the clones & fakes. If they took all this time to work on a block and a slew of other patches, I would hope that they ran test after test, after test to make sure that this time they've finally hit the final nail on the clones/fake coffin and we can we move on.

As for the other features (I'm hoping can only assume) that the new features may come from what was available on the COBRA? + more...

well i have had my tb dongle for some time now and the waiting hasn't affected me cos im still playing new games.Announcements about new cfw have been around for nigh on 2 years so im not gonna hold my breath on that one.
Lets face it we don't need new features all we want to do is play the latest games,
so i say patience is a virtue and lets wait and see.

i agree steeplejack but the lack of communication is what people and me are annoyed with i mean they aint said nothing in months all they had to say is right were taking a little time off to work on a new dongle and new patches instead of the silence and letting their customers down in this way.

Well it's good to know that true blue team will still continue to support old dongles. I hope they wont release JAP eboots only(not my style of games)

I knew they were going to release something soon. Lightake said around july 20 here it is july 23. They held their word in my opinion. I still got plenty of games to play. I hope they come out with a way for us to patch our own games instead of waiting. They would win this war if they did that. It seems the true blue dongle may become obsolete with the whole cex2dex procedure, but like I said if they can release a pc app that would allow us to patch our own games I wouldn't even be interested with the cex2dex procedure. The cex to dex procedure seems to be still in testing (beta) form. Until they release a noob friendly tutorial I think trueblue is still on top here.

Yeah Im pissed they waited so long.. and how they been drawing out the new release at lenth, not just this last 2 months but the pass 4 to 5 months... there M.O. they realease a new firmware, then 8 crapy eboots and 1-2 good(not the best) eboots just to see if the JBK can crack them.. and if so.. who cares right, cuase most was shity anywho I cant play MOST Jap. games.. accidental?? I think not, but thats there cat and mouse game plan... SUCKS 4 US the end user!! but back on track, all this wating Im not getting any younger.. Look I say stop the King of the hill BS and start giving PROPER SERVICE as promised no more LIP SERVICE.. new funtions? new funtions?? what new funtions???? more death traps maybe??.. like a said b4 show me somthing... cuase im staring to lose faith!!

Cex2Dex is to make your retail ps3 a debug ps3. It's for devs to more easily test their code. It's not meant to make piracy better / easier. With a dex you can play backups and retail games though. Unlike cfw where you can have seemingly unlimited backups dex only allows 4 partitions per drive and one game per partition. Sure, there is probably a wonderful workaround for this but no dev in their right mind would release the method until ps4 is out because Sony has all of the talent worried. Some people think its greedy of devs not to share their work but if you're a pilot do you let everyone fly for free? That's TB's angle. As for regular everyday normal guys like Geohot the legal fee's and trouble make it not worth it to release the info.

I can't blame them for trying, but i don't see this selling too well now, with all games playable on dex.

Well it looks like they are about done if you ask me. I never jumped on that bandwagon saying they are done. But they are obviously milking it for every drop they can and the tactics they are using show just that.. This is not any type of NEWS. not something that would warrent them to ignore their customer base for 2 months. Why would you need a new device if the old device would be compatible, that makes no sense.

The whole "news" was about how they are protecting from clones (WHO GIVES A F**K). but if the old devices is compilable, then there would be no USE FOR A NEW DONGLE. So why ignore your customers? No news of the "a lot of extra features". Instead they are telling the customers who they ignored that hey we have a new package (they dont care they already own one). something they already announced previously. Why not talk about the new Features.. Maybe because it is a tactic to milk the public more. Then another 3 months and they will bring out some lame feature, what next the TRUE PINK. same device new color..

So my question is, what is a lie the whole thing? Will they bring new features? Will they always support the old dongles? Why do they need a new dongle? Is it just a gimmick? Obviously something is a lie because you dont take two months away from customers to bring a new dongle where the new one will have the same updates. How does that protect against your clones you speak of.? You tell everyone news is coming on the 20th and this is the news. you told your customers nothing.

I haven't bought one of these and it this news SURE IN THE HELL doesnt make me want to buy one. They are about done or they are lieing thier ass off.. This was the BIG NEWS lmao...

(I never been a true blue hater or supporter, i have seen it for what it is and if a person feels like they need it then its their choice, but this obviously shows me they are about done. One last ploy to cash in. New device and the hope of new featires will get some sales. before they stop support all togther.)

Im with everyone else about the lack of communication this company has put out. They could have put new firmware out and given us some new eboots or told us they are working on a new dongle and news will be coming forth. Lets hope they dont give us eboots for random games and we get the likes of resident evil and lego batman 2. sooner the better, still say that the dongle was one of the best £40 to £50 ive spent in a long time

it was to long to wait for an answer!patch those damn new games! and any others missing! Thats why i buy and support that dongle...dude so much time waiting!... Oh man i regret selling pes 2011 am a soccer fan too harsh to sell pes 2012 without even have played it...

Well, the gates are open now. Convert your console to dex, and you can play any game you want, dongle-free.

I think that Sony tried to stop Geohot early on mostly as an attempt to stop the PS3 hacking from getting too widespread and unstopable. The same was it with PSJailbreak in the very begining. At this point it doesnt seem to matter much. You see a lot of people showing how to make CEX to DEX and how to find your PS3 rootkey. I doubt Sony will use any legal matter on this now. I also havnt heard anyone getting sued for selling True Blue and similar dongles.

I drown out the kiddies whining on here with me drinking a beer that i bought legally from the store that a lot here can't do. I have had a moan in the past of course who hasn't, but the leechers on here that claim to be scene or whine about free stuff is just ridiculous.

Some of us actually do have scene contacts but we don't feel the need to try and make shit up that isnt true just to disguise the leechers that you really are
