This is BS. I've been following this case a little and thought for sure Sony wasn't going to even win that much. To allow a TRO and a BS jurisdiction in a case using the fair use defense is just crazy. I hope he sends them a broken ps3 and a pc with a wiped hard drive. The only reason they wanted this TRO granted was so they could snoop around his files hoping to find a way to save their own ass. If they wanted his knowledge on the ps3, they should have hired him. I hope he didn't leave any info on how he got the master key or what they could do to stop future jailbreaks on his computers...

Sony can take ALL of his equipment and that includes all four PS3's, that includes his computer/laptop or even this calculator of his but only if they know its useful but if anything belonged to his dad then they cant take it :P

Do you reckon Microsoft etc hire programmers to reverse engineer the ps3 (or visa-versa) to know how it works etc? because I was thinking If I owned xbox I'd just hire someone to secretly work out all the root keys etc for my competitors consoles and take them down (release the keys anonymously etc) I know this wouldn't be legal but if anything's told us something its that these big companies seem to get away with anything anyway and are you telling me everything Sony does (hidden or made public) is legal?
I know that may sound like a bit of a stupid statement but that's honestly what I'd do if I owned Sony or Microsoft

I have to admit that I'm very surprised by this ruling. If only because the jurisdiction matter was so hazy. I am also continually amazed that it is possible to grant an injunction against uknown defendents.

Nice to see however that Sony will not be taking a closer look at GeoHot's computers as the TRO was altered by the Judge so that the equipment only needs to be surrendered to his own attorney. A $10,000 bond from Sony is on the other hand, nothing more than loose change.

Did notice that the TRO only includes firmware up to 3.55, wonder if GeoHot and "accomplices" are working on 3.56?
