TeaM AC1D: TrueBlue a Scam

TeaM AC1D has announced that they know the secret behind the True Blue dongle and in the process calling the True Blue a scam. They explain that no real code is used but rather files from higher firmware and some of these files are compatible with older firmware, although the ones that don't work need a little fixing. Below is an extract.

Finally, after a long period of a scene that got riddled and raped by money hungry dongle suppliers we uncover this big scam and show you how things like the true blue dongle actually work.

First of all, non of the code used comes from the true blue creators. All files used come directly from higher PS3 firmwares.

All you need to do is place them in the right folder and thats it. Of course this does not work with all the procdure quiet games so easy, some of the 3.6 + games load right away, otheres need some fixing.

They are basically charging you money for a small custom firmware, i would call it the biggest scam the ps3 scene a lot has ever seen and we have seen.

This scam needs to be stopped and we should all join hands to finally put to end to all of this. Use this information and do what you have to do.

Now lets sit back, await a release of the method so we can get our own legally purchased games running on custom firmware.

Mooses910 Seems to have released a True Blue fix recently , https://twitter.com/#!/Mooses910 , Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites! I guess this could brick your system I would not install it until Devs test this.

i just downloaded the files , its a simple process really , but i dont want to try it yet, we should wait until some devs look into it..

Butt-hurt or not, i'm not giving a single penny to those TB faggots ever. Making profit from game devs and charging you for nothing, and i can't believe there are retards that actually support this too for they are part of some nasty travesty that has befallen the scene. Any group that makes profit from the scene should go fist themselves in the abyss. The only reason i really use the cfw is to see if games are really worth buying or just another generic pile of shit in my department. I have 15 bought titles. And i really support the devs that make them, i never do it because of sony and never will. So yeah, that's that.

So let me get this straight. It's okay to use pirated debug eboots to play your pirated games as long as no one is charging you anything, but .... it is not alright to pay for a product that uses pirated debug eboots to play your pirated games?

If you look at most other scenes you will find modchips and other similar products that use proprietary keys, code and/or were programmed using pirated software development kits and no one in this scenes are really making a fuss about it. Sure I think selling pirated eboots is immoral, but what about installing a CFW that uses keys that belong to Sony (think back to the DVD decryption key leak debacle).

My point is that no matter how you try to justify the legality and morality of the situation is that you can't (well, maybe besides a few lax countries). You can't take an anti-Trueblue stance and whip out the piracy card and you're pulling it from a stolen deck of cards.

So Ac1d has a theory on how the Trueblue works (proof anyone?) which I assume they would of figured a way to decrypt the Dongle. So Ac1d; where's these magic drivers? Where's some 3.7+ compatibility? You diss TB for not giving it away free, but you didn't figure it out, put a product together an successfully market and sell it to an audience that apparently doesn't want to wait for people like you who run their mouth about "free" solutions, but at the end of the day do to produce anything, but more hate and excuses.

Honestly the people who are trying to diss true blue need a reality check if you are on this website you at-least own 1 (Pirated Game) that you did (Not Buy) and plzz for the people who saying they want to try the game... Demos do exists so put the anti-piracy card back... yeah I pirate and I bootleg and I buy games on my other ps3 I have the balls to say it (On Topic) If its so easy why hasn't ANYONE I repeat ANYONE figured it out until now true blue been out for how many months? People want shit for free nuff said. Yet they complain on how the scene isn't doing anything and if you want to speak about priorities a true-blue dongle cost the same as 1 ps3 game yet you get access to over 10 or more games that is over 3.60 now if my mathematics are correct (you will save over 600+ dollars in the making of buying a true blue) No Disrespect to other users when I say this but really Shut the **** up if you cant pay for a 60 dollar dongle that will save you hundreds in the long run you was NEVER intending on buying a DAMN THING from the start. Anyone with half a brain would realize you can enjoy newer titles... when will people realize not everything is for free people will continue to support true blue and people will still try to say true blue isn't (right) for selling their product team Acid needs to crawl back under a rock

*IF* AC1D is correct then it is true TB is indeed a scam because they LIED and said they can decode ANY eboot. *IF* they rely on installed OFW files then people have bought TB based on false confidence.

All hacking scenes should be based on open and free information and sharing, not hoarding and steeling to make a quick $. Piracy profiteers are ****ing dirtbags and defeating to the main purpose and ideology of a true backup and Dev scene.

I'm not applauding them or praising them and I didn't even buy the TB. I just think it's funny that you guys act like you're all righteous on a PS3 piracy site. It's simply being hypocritical. Most of the people that's butt-hurt here is the people too cheap to fork out money to buy the TB and wants everything handed to them for free. Like I said, I haven't bought the TB jailbreak, but I can wait for a new CFW if it ever comes out. If it doesn't then oh wells, move on. If I were in their position, I would of done the same as well and so will the majority of people. Why wouldn't you make money if you had the chance to?

First of all, keys to decrypt EBOOTs aren't in SPRX at all, but in APPLDR. Guess where is APPLDR since 3.60+ ? It's in LV0. Guess what we can't decrypt (and obviously what 3.55 keys CAN'T decrypt), it's LV0 ! (only BOOTLDR can, so technically any version (1.00, 3.50, 3.55 etc can decrypt LV0, so yeah basically it's as "easy" as dumping a decrypted BOOTLDR to get LV0 keys, but we are back to square one, what is everyone trying to exploit for a year now).

Second of all, SPRX from 3.56+ wouldn't be even READ by 3.55, simply because the SPRX are themselves encrypted with the very same keys Sony uses to encrypt 3.60+ games.... but I won't hide you there is an easy way to decrypt 3.60+ SPRX without having any keys (but won't go into details because it's kinda useless, since again these files don't have keys).

Finally, well... let's just say cfwprophet is as respectful as DemonHade

Here's an idea. What if the TB team actually knows how to decrypt lv0 and get all the keys but never released it publicly? and instead made an awesome dongle that can play 3.60+ games and make money off of it.

some original eboots do work, and i bet thats the first games true blue released, but the games that wont work, will either need the debugged eboots from the debug servers, or to have a decryption method for all 3.60+ firmware eboots. this would take the latest keys. which noone has publicly released yet. the debugged eboots will allow the JB2 (true blue) payload to start the game, as long as you have the proper files in dev flash. i am not a ps3 dev, and i dont claim to be one or act like it. but reading will get you along ways.

IF we had the latest keys we wouldnt need this method, we could just update to a 4.0 CFW with backup managers and everything that 3.55 CFW already has.

info on PS3DevWiki is sadly misconstrued as it's been edited by Anti-TB eussNL, before he edited it there was an post by a well known dev saying they weren't dev/debug EBOOTs I've also heard from other devs that they weren't so it's all in who you want to trust or listen to. Don't get me wrong PS3DevWiki is a great site (that I use all the time) it's just not all info you find there is going to be pure fact
