Me too. Now going back to 3.55, new games worked, old patched games did not. tried to play Dishonored and install data failed and currupted my hdd and ask me to reformat. lost my internals aswell.

hi,i had installed cfw 4.21 on my slim 120go cech 2004b and it works finely without propleme,and all my buckups work with the last mM.

I Didnt do it from recovery either !
I Did install it directly from rogero cfw v 3.7
I have a slim 160 GB ps3, first generation slim

highly unsuggested! not bashing, but i'm saying, that was pretty stupid and pretty much asking for a brick. i mean, it's great you got it to work, but, that was just not smart.

it does seem a good amount of certain consoles are working with this as time passes and less bricks are coming up.

I'm glad you posted this Bahumat. Hopefully you've saved a few PS3's in the process by doing so.
These bricks seem to be completely random. It appears to go beyond not dehashing after a downgrade. There are users this has happened to who have never downgraded, thinking they have done everything right, going to OFW, using recovery etc, and then ending up with a brick. No correlation between upgrading via XMB or recovery, upgrading from OFW or CFW......nothing. I'm presuming there is a common factor somewhere, it's just nobody seems to know what it is.

It's not lost yet. I've got several good flash dumps. I'm just waiting on a flasher

I still see people trying to do this because of impatience even after multiple warnings. My only suggestion to people that haven't done it yet is to wait for the Rebug version coming soon. Wouldn't it be better to wait a couple days/weeks for a proper cfw than to risk a possible brick. And yeah I've noticed it seems very random too. It might even flash correctly, then brick the next time it's installed on the same console. Not worth it

if rebug is throwing their hat into the ring, it should be good! i just don't like how they usually have updates to their firmware that fixes things (like hd displays and stuff). i wish they tested somethings just a tad more. other than that, they are one of the best groups

So this is now the place where all ps3 consoles will go to die, this sight makes me mourn. Only way to test new cfw is just release it and watch what happend.....sad but true. I have kmeaw 3.55 and wanna update badly but other me says don't do that stupid thing you son of the bitch, I am not going to do it because among them seems to be an expert at a few and even they have not been successful.

Okay, so maybe I'm exaggerating that number but I can speak from personal experience.
