Spanish police website hit by Anonymous hackers

Well looks like the hard working hackers in the famous group of "Anonymous" certainly believe in the word "Vengeance". And why must i say that? Well it looks like Anonymous had hacked and shutdown the Spanish Police website on June 12th 2011 at 21:30 GMT and kept it down for an hour or so. It seems to be an act of revenge for the arrest of their 3 fellow group members.

The hackers managed to keep www.policia.es offline for about an hour from 2130 GMT on 12 June.

Spanish authorities would not confirm that Anonymous was behind the attack, saying only that the site was offline.

However, a statement was posted on a website linked to Anonymous, claimed responsibility for the hack, which it called #OpPolicia.

The group said it had used a distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) which bombards a target website with so much data that it becomes overwhelmed.

A spokesman for the Spanish police said the cause of the outage had not yet been established.

"A website can collapse if too many people try to access it at once. I cannot confirm the link with the Anonymous group," said the spokesman.

In its statement, Anonymous said the DDoS attack was a "direct response to the Friday arrests of three individuals alleged to be associated with acts of cyber civil disobedience attributed to Anonymous."

The group said DDoS attacks were a legitimate form of peaceful protest. Some of its members are thought to have carried out similar attacks on Turkish government websites to protest against net censorship.

Anonymous also denied that the men arrested were part of the "core" of Spanish members of the group.

"They did not arrest any core group, because we don't have a core group," said Anonymous in its statement

They better watch it... Committing any form of aggression towards some of these agencies will be met with shoot to kill discipline.

But see, thats the funny thing about it. They don't know who is really doing these acts, so they can't really shoot anyone til they found out its really them.

Remember what they said "Anonymous can be anybody".

People talk. End of story. I didn't say get a tip then shoot first, ask questions later. When they get a target they know it to be fact. Investigations go on for a long time.

Since you think you have all the answers with how these agencies should be run then please enlighten us. List out all the crimes YOU feel are important and list what percentage of personnel should be allotted.

Oh and if you ever grow up and happen to own your own company I hope all efforts to secure your livelihood are flushed down the toilet as you wish upon others.

Well i guess, i provoked someone once again, well i feel as i stated earlier that rape and murder should be on top of the list, as well as child molestors.

i dont say im fit for the job, im just saying they should allot alot more personell to things that really matter instead of always going after the easy jobs, or the ones who do economic crimes....

actually most of the rape crimes never get solved.

police use way to much resources looking for people who smoke weed and so on.
i do understand them wanting to stop people from driving to fast because thats potentially harmful for other human beings.

but i so feel like sony had it coming and i do enjoy that the world has hacktivist groups!
too little is done about whats unfair in this world, we just tend to answer, its just the way it is and there nothing we can do about it. But what if all of us wanted change?
dont you think we could change it into something better?

so finally lets get to the point!

i want the police to put much more effort into human lives at stake, than monetary crimes, which in the long run dont even matter.... And yes if Sony goes down many people will loose their jobs, but it would not be that way if we didnt have capitalism!

also if i ever own my own company which would be nice, its kinda hard to have my livelihood flushed down any toilet since it already was years ago....

but i dont mind since i live really well living it small, and right now im laughing really hard at the fact that i can enjoy the small things in life.... and really i dont want to get rich! Btw im 28, dosent mean im all grown up.... but how old are you? and what have i done to you that you want to see me doing bad? ohh and the stop being a tool part i meant the police, if you did take that personally

Wow! Let me guess, most of your education is based from media and your friends? As an example, US police agencies spend close to ZERO resources looking for people who smoke pot. In fact they could hardly care less about users.

I didn't even read the rest of your post. Up to this point here you are full of nothing but hot air.

The bottom line here is, you have NO CLUE as to what resources are used to solve hate crimes. Your comments are about as baseless as they can come.

Well if participants were arrested and anonymous brought the site down for around an hour, I think we can all say the police definitely had the upper hand there. I really doubt an hour of downtime on their site caused any major problems.

A DDoS attack isn't really hacking either... "Hacked and shutdown"? I don't think so.. I think this post is boasting Anonymous a bit too much.

If there was a machine that could make anything you want with a blueprint and raw materials, would you buy it? Per example, someone scan a 300K$ Ferrari and put it on the web, you download it and put it on a SD card. It would be the end of corporate kings, and what will we do without our King, he's so good to us, why else would he share his land with us for? Fool.

reading what GOD wrote, id say he probably thought that ANONYMOUS was standing up for piracy which they never did, but i dont think what he wrote was bad, but as mr ISOhaven aka im too good for everybody on the internet and US is the whole world just ignored all that he wrote as plain ****... well its not really stealing, because they still get to keep what they own.

in the long run its the publishers and record companies that get the most profits. Now that should be illegal! as for the movie and game industry? what in the world of sane minds makes us think we can spend so much money on something that does nothing more than entertain us?! and the fact that most of those movies or games, get some really nice looking effects that just dont do anything for the plots or whatever, now for games and movies there are ways of doing this cost effective.

HEY! you got something to say wise guy? you got something against me? then say it..........you think just because i wrote this news and posted it on the front page, i am supporting them? It was news related to the playstation scene and a big one that is why i posted it.
