Sony Reduces gameSharing Slots

Well bad news for those of you that want to gameshare. The giant enemy crab has stated that as of November 18th the number of slots that a user would be able to gameshare with, has been reduced to 2 slots per system. Previously we had the freedom to have around 5 gamesharing slots per console, but no more. However for those of you who are fortunate enough to have a PSP system will gain an additional 2 slots to gameshare with. Here is a quote from the official PlayStation website regarding this issue.

We’d like to inform you of some upcoming changes to the usage policies for PlayStation Network game content. As of November 18, 2011, the number of devices that can be activated on one PlayStation Network account for game content purchased from the PlayStation Store will be updated.
For game content purchased after November 18, 2011, a new policy will apply and the number of devices that can be activated will be as follows:

PS3: Users will be able to play the game on up to 2 activated PS3 systems.
PSP: Users will be able to play the game on up to 2 activated PSP systems.

Please note that this update will not affect game content purchased before November 18. The PSP rights include PSP-1000/2000/3000 series as well as the PSPgo system.
PlayStation Network users are able to change the activation setting through each device, and Sony Computer Entertainment plans to provide a new PlayStation Network account management website where users will be able to deactivate particular devices attached to their PlayStation Network account via their PC.

I have 7 PS3's and 1 PSP and planing to buy an PSVita but now? WTF!! I like only the second part. If you have an broken PS3 you just could deactivate it. but that's all......Stupid Sony..

Not that I support this, but to be fair, they are at least still letting any games purchased before the new limit have 5 activations, and you will now be able to deactivate a system online from a pc.

Seriously are you that stupid? why in hell would play one game in 7 PS3s? even with the current PS3s that can be activated you wouldn't be able to activate 7 because max is 5.

The purpose of "game-sharing" is so that if your PS3 is broken you can still play it in another PS3 or share it with another friend and that's it.... I doubt you will be playing on 7 different PS3s during the day O.o anyways Hackers "wannabe" hate Sony that much that make people say stupid things like what you just said. I support hacks, but not to destroy the online (PSN) the way it is right now is fine... you wanna hack? Offline, no hacks? Online

I'd like to know as well how you can deactivate systems from the PC. I never had the chance to deactivate my first PS3 that stopped working.

Who really cares about game sharing? I've had my PS3 for a couple years and never used it. And for those with CFW most games are transferrable through Duplex or other groups. And the ones that aren't currently available will soon be. I don't care if you pirate games or not or what your stance is on the subject, but those of us that do I have a couple questions for you. How many games have you played that you haven't paid anything for? How many of those are games that you never would have been able to enjoy because you wouldn't have been able to afford them? And to those people saying that Playstation is out of business or dead or whatever. I seriously doubt that. Sony makes better hardware than Nintendo, Microsoft, Sega, NEC, SNK, and on and on. They aren't going anywhere. They are at the top of the business for a reason. They are talking about future purchases from PSN. Not ones already made. This is pretty standard practice to scale back online features in the year or two before a new console is released. They aren't taking anything away from customers like they did with OtherOS. They are phasing out the old and bringing in the new. This is actually good news for gamers. This is the early stage of a new console. Celebrate. We're moving forward

While I don't like being limited to 2 devices, at least we can deactivate them now. Not letting us deactivate our broken consoles was one of the dumbest things Sony did with their online system.

How quickly people have forgotten about the terror, that was the Playstation 2's "Disk Read Error"

And then there was the ps1 that had the same problem..... And everyone I know with a ps3, literally, has had it break on them.

But how soon will they let us deactivate systems? I've been wanting to do this since I first bought my system.
