Sony Gearing Up To Issue The Ban Hammer - CFW Users Beware!

The PlayStation 3 scene should have expected this. Various reports suggest that anyone using custom firmware and using PSN/SEN will be banned. Even those using fckPSN or other means of bypassing access to PSN/SEN can be included in the ban wave. I for one have never used online access on my custom firmware PS3, so it would be interesting to see how far the ban hammer reaches. If you are one of the unlucky ones you will be met with a error code 8002A231. Please inform fellow CFW users should you encounter this.

Thank you for your patronage of our PlayStation ® 3 from patronage. Cases of malicious software used on PlayStation ® 3 has occurred recently. Illegal use of the software, in violation of the software license agreement system for PlayStation ® 3, Terms and PlayStation ® Network, the Terms and Conditions Sony Entertainment Network. For the body 3 PlayStation ® violation was observed beyond the scope of the provision of services such as warranty and repair.

Unauthorized software for the PlayStation 3 system was recently released by hackers. Use of such software violates the terms of the "System Software License Agreement for the PlayStation 3 System" and the "Terms of Services and User Agreement" for the PlayStation Network/Sony Entertainment Network and its Community Code of Conduct provisions.

Violation of the System Software License Agreement for the PlayStation 3 system invalidates the consumer's right to access that system. Tried to login online to see what would happen and got this message after putting my password in:

Welp, win some ya lose some

And it's definitely this account because I was able to login in on the website with one of the other accounts on my system.

It's weird though because I'm able to login on the internet with my other accounts but I can't get on PSN with those same accounts through my console. So they probably suspended my account and the console.

My PS3 also won't detect my SSID anymore. Detects other ones but not mine for some reason. Everything was fine before my account was 'suspended'

It would help to figure out why you got banned so others don't suffer that fate if you post how you use your PS3 online. What do you play? What firmware were you on? Were you using 3.55 patches or playing legit Sony patches?

The more details the better

ok heres my stance on CFW you want free DLC fine you want to cheat do it offline fair i don't agree with stealing games or cheating online
homebrew games are fine if you get bricked for cheating online that was your fault you should know the risks if you get bricked for playing a game before it comes out again thats your fault

in short words use a little common sense before you act

My one PSN account received the unauthorized software email today and I never played Black Ops 2. Thankfully this was my extra account and not my main account. I can sign into the website with my main account no problem. My main account will now be deleted from the CFW PS3. I don't even play online anyway so no big deal.

EDIT: The error code I get when I do a network connections test is 8002a231.

I am on Rogero 4.30 v2.03 and I don't use any 3.55 patches as there is no need to. The only major change is that I was using ReactPSN 2.23.

I doubt it was ReActPSN. I've been using it for well over a year without problems. Were you playing Far Cry 3, or the God Of War Ascension Beta or anything new like that?

No Far Cry 3 or GoW Beta.

The only game I've been playing is my purchased copy of Borderlands 2. I did mod the save file though but I haven't played it for several days now. The funny thing is that the last account I was signed into PSN with was my main account, not the account that got banned.

I haven't tried signing into PSN again with the CFW console. I may make another account and try it to see if the console was banned.

I was fooling around trying to convert some of my PS3 games on the disc into PSN versions and I don't sign into PSN while playing home brew.

They didn't completely remove my account as I can still view my Trophies from a web browser while signed into another account. I just can't sign into my secondary account anymore.

I would have been really mad if they suspended my main account as I have spent hundreds of dollars in the PSN.

HEY I HAVE JUST BEEN BANNED ON MY PS3 4.30CFW MY ACCOUNTS & CONSOLE BUT I PLAY OFFLINE STAY AWAY FROM BO2, I TRY USEING PSID & UNBAN APPS BUT NO LUCK IF THERE'S ANYONE WHO SUCESSFULL OF UNBANNING THEY CONSOLE PLEASE REPLY THANKS
