You know, while I really dislike Sony to the point where I will never buy Sony Products again I have to say they are handling the PSN problem the right way. If you don't agree with the TOS then don't use it and cancel your account. Straight, simple and to the point.

That's what I did when they took OtherOS away.

Although, if you just read the TOS on their site(s) how is that a legal binding contract? Unless when you login you have to check something to continue with the new TOS. Reading it or buying it don't mean jack if you don't sign or agree via electronic means. How are you supposed to agree to the TOS for the PS3 before you buy it when you can't open the box to read it and sign a contract in front of a witness?

I'm not a lawyer, but usually a legally binding contract involves a signature and a notary public. So all of this is garbage.

Did you pull that from one of sony's sites? I can't view it from where I am.

Just like the plans for the bypass have been on display in the locked drawer in the basement of the planning office.

It depends on the type of contract. Sometimes all is needed is consent from both parties. Also where you live affects the deal too. Then again, I also believe this is BS.

I do NOT...agree to the terms of service. I will never agree to their garbage. Sony is becoming the new Nazi regime. But in this case...a "digital regime"

since I'm not on the PSN for some time now I cannot care less about their useless updates... deleted my cc info after the incident and I still occasionally play a game or so (i have quite a backlog of games here.. some still shrinkwrapped, some waiting on my hdd ...so im perfectly happy with my jailbroken ps3 "as is" :-)

When people Agree to the Terms Of Use its the biggest lie anyone could do.

I have never read them and I love on the Jailbreaking software the Blah Blah Blah part since its the only part i DO read.

It's September 2011 and they've come up with YET another Terms of Service contract... that they want me to sign. This new terms of service tells me that I am going to give up some rights to use their software. SONY and it's companies should not be allowed to sell their products or services in North America if they cannot abide by and respect the laws that THEY AGREED to in the first place. Instead they want to change the law to suit their needs... at OUR expense. They want to limit OUR RIGHTS in the process. THEY VIOLATED OUR TRUST. 70 Million of US did nothing wrong. But SONY wants to make US all pay for their mistakes. I'm opting out. First Toyota, now SONY. Are all these Japanese corporations so lacking in respect for our laws? Are we going to let them get away with it? You decide. It's only a game...

The answer is simple ... Call SONY 's bluff. Sign up with SONY and then call the lawyers representing the class action suit in your country and add your name to the list. Then send SONY a letter of your intent to legitimize your rights. SONY intends to cancell your account anyway if you stand up for your rights . So THEY lose ... NOT YOU.... the customer...AND the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT. IF this is SONY 's customer service and their way of disrespecting OUR rights... then they don't deserve to participate in OUR market place. They are not above the law. They are disrespecting OUR rights with this latest legal maneuver...which just shows you the lip service that the corporate leaders paid everyone with their bowing apologetically for the media. SONY deserves a damn good spanking.

Funny thing is you CAN actually opt out of the waiver. Read carefully.

It seems you have to snail mail them a letter to do it, but they ARE letting you opt out.
