While the developer behind Showtime - Home Theater System for your jailbroken PS3 consoles, Andreas Öman has been on vacation, and thus not releasing any official updates for his popular program; developer Red Squirrel aka redquirrel87 has been keeping everyone updated with the latest packages of the recent builds. Remember that these are unofficial builds, so use them at your own risk, as there could be system freezes or crashes. See below for the recent changes since your last update including new translation options, a fix, and plenty of other additions. Enjoy it today thanks to the support from Red Squirrel!

v3.1.27 (Jul 31, 2011):

•Remove unused file commandmenu.view
•glw: Replace int2str() with fmt()

•glw: Fix typo causing count() not to work

From this page you can download the unofficial versions of Showtime, useful to try the new features immediately, without having to wait for the (rare) official releases.

"Unofficial" simply means that this versions have been compiled from sources taken from the official GIT, so, in other words, they are still under development. For this reason, they are not fully tested and/or 100% optimized for the PS3 (remember, Showtime is a multiplatform project and the author himself has admitted that his work is based on the Linux version and only later he adapts it for other versions) and so they may cause crashes or freezes in your console.
Try them only at your own risk.

•Due to the frequency of these builds releases, I decided to post them only in a way: the version that is installed into the "Video" menu with old ICON0.PNG

Finally Showtime and Synology works with subtitles.. Amazing work.. Thx so much.. Ps: Iso support is broken..

Can someone tell me why every single new Showtime version almost comes with more stuff broken and... languages??? Isn´t it much more important *FIRST* add a decent UI + more features as RMVB support + NTFS? RMVB doesn´t work, when I want to change something it´s a complete mess due the horrible UI and button shortcuts are to laugh. Showtime is clearly not optimized for PS3 or console use, or to easily provide smooth playback and fast access to Audio/video/FF/FW/Subtitles/Sound volume. Also if I want a decent file menu or easily change video file I have to undergo several menus again. In the end Showtime had lots of potential but it seems that developers are not much interested on optimizing it.

@mmick: The developer behind this wonderful program pushed version 3.0 right before he left for vacation. He wanted to make sure we had the latest release before he left, which is great. Now, while he has been on vacation, another developer has decided to help bring unofficial builds to the public. With unofficial builds, there is a larger chance of errors, and some little changes that you might not understand, or like at the momment. But give it some time, and we will see an official release that should make everyone smile again

keops22 I was going to recode this to 3.41 for all us 3.41 users but i don't really see a reason to install this update maybe when a better update comes out.

Good, also the choose to "migrate" to VIDEO, in XMB, instead than GAME. I've found around few MKV not correctly played from Showtime. (no video, only audio). "i" inside the program say "VC1 1920 x 1080" in video codec. No video, but only audio, good audio (DTS). In another MKV, just NO information in video codec. Also only audio. In WinXP, all "defective" mkv plays well, obviously. H264 codec. Any idea? Wait for next releases, obviously.

im getting alot of 'cpu too slow to play video' when playing 720p/1080p mkvs...there is something broken in the 3.0+ builds so im going to have to revert to an older build until this major bug is fixed....
