Showtime Plugin: TV Support!

Showtime adds one more feature to its list; live TV playback. Its still in WIP, but the creator(facanferff) makes clear that it is definitely working, and will be released when its channel support is broad enough for widespread use.

This great feature comes in the form of a plugin for the main app. As long as you have a jailbroken PS3 and the homebrew app Showtime, soon you'll be kicking back watching your favorite shows on your gaming console. To be sure your favorite channel is added, shoot off an email to facanferff@hotmail.com, and it may well make the final release.

EDIT: facanferff, the developer of this plugin has commented here on PSX-Scene to verify some information for us.

It had limited information given, as its still early in WIP. I'm sure we will know more soon, if your answer isn't already posted in the original posts comment section....

When you don't have internet at home it's a bit of a pain. That's why I download off my PC at work and transfer via usb to PS3. I might have a plan soon to get internet at home.

I'm in america and I have the worst local TV (Fox "news" and PBS) this would be a god send.

@facanferff Lets have some high Quality soccer streams for the footy such as PLTV or Sky Sports if possible as most on net at the moment are crap streams.cheers

That channel that airs live ufc ppv's would be sweet. Sorry I dont know the name of the channel. I just read some countrys that cant get ppv's get this channel.

Well, I´m Portuguese but I´m on Belgium (Brussels) for a couple of weeks and the room´s TV does not work (analogic) and my TDT HD (mpeg 2 & mpeg 4) USB also does not get any signal! (in Portugal I get the standard ones and in Spain I get around 25 TDT channels).

If I can´t get even the analogic / digital TV with proper devices, how do you expect someone streamed Belgium TV

Just kidding (though it´s true), certainly we´ll see Belgium channels too

European tv streaming?...What about the US? And also I'm a bit confused still as to how this could even work. And you all do realize streaming sucks right? lol...The buffing is tedious and time consuming. Some stuff even takes an hour to buff in order to watch. Other channels that should be included- tnt,TBS,Cartoon Network,TeenNick,HUB,abc,nbc,the CW,showtime,Stars,hbo,Cinemax,IFC

WOW great news. And Big Respect to author of plugin ! I`d would be great if you add a channels that stream UFC or STRIKEFORCE MMA fighting championships. ESPN, ORANGE SPORT PL, EUROSPORT 2 PL, SPIKE TV and others.... Waiting for a new add channels :>

why dont you include the channels that are normally on the tv section aswell like itv player, bbc iplayer and 4od that would be amazing
