I don't allow my PS3 to be online, so I may not enjoy the plugin as others do, but good work nevertheless.

You are really missing out on stuff like Navi-X not allowing your ps3 online. I strongly advise you, at least, give that a go, i promise you wont be disappointed

Oh, I've tested them to see how they look and function. And yes they are very cool.

But no thanks. This 3.55 CFW PS3 will be always offline. This way when I am playing games, I don't get those annoying popups asking me to update the game and etc.

So I am not really missing out. Trust me!

@Jay-Jay -- If I'm understanding the situation this tip may help you (or others who do not know)..By setting a fake proxy in the network settings on the PS3, it will never go "online" by normal standards (asking for updates, accidentally logging into PSN or the Internet -- the connection in totally "dead" as far going out of your house. However, when running homebrew like MMan or Showtime, these homebrew apps do not go through the Network Settings like the official stuff does, so you get the best of both worlds... Never accidentally update, etc, but still get updates on games in MMan and can use Showtime. All you do it set some address you aren't using on the proxy, like 192.168.1.220. This also allows your PS3 to get a local address OK and be able to stream movies, etc over your local network, but (again), cannot access the Internet (except homebrew).

EDIT: now that that is said, Perhaps this app uses the real PS3 browser and needs a proper connection to the net? If so, then yeah, I agree, I would not do that myself either. But for those who do not know about the proxy tip in general, hope it helps someone not accidentally update their PS3 over the Net.

@Jay-Jay - If you just get off of 3.55 you can actually update your games. Updates contain bug fixes and a lot of time new content. I've been able to update every single one of my games to the latest version. Plus you can go on PSN (stay away from Black Ops II).

You know I wouldn't steer you wrong. Update to Rebug 4.21. It's the best of both worlds (CFW + OFW). It's strange to me that you of all people is a hold out

@Bahumatlord, Um, back when we went from 3.41 to 3.55, I waited several months until I switched over. I usually wait until all the kinks and bugs seem to be sorted out. It's just my way of doing things. I appreciate your encouragement, but I am going to wait a tad longer. Besides if I upgrade, there will be less "trustworthy" people testing 3.55 fixes for the rest.

I know that you would never stir me wrong, and I do appreciate everything you do in this forum and outside of it.

publically released 3.55 fixes need to be phased out altogether. A lot of the newer stuff is problematic to fix for 3.55 but runs flawlessly on 4.xx CFW. Add to that you have people posting fixes that are untested and improperly done so if you had to search for a fix you could end up trying 3 or 4 before you found a good one. There doesn't seem to be any quality control or standards of production on fixes anymore.

And then you have the possibility that newest games like CODBOII and the upcoming God Of War Ascension can detect modified eboots and get you banned from PSN. And trust me GOW will be even better protected than COD. It's just better to use the official eboots and the official updates

This is really nice and all but the search function doesn't really work that well because the movie titles have the year in it.. So it just goes off on a searching rampage grabbing tons of unrelated movies and even missing the actual movie your searching for all together on some of them. Once that gets sorted out this is going to be one of the best plug ins showtime has to offer.

I went from 3.55 to REBUG 4.21 a couple days ago... I was able to easily resign ALL my PSN and homebew apps using "TrueAncestor EBOOT Resigner v1.5" (which does the content ID for you automatically, so a one button fix). Note that under REBUG 4.21 (spoofed to 4.31 built in), all disc based games (that were using hacks) will still run properly without resigning from 3.55 to 4.xx. Only the PSN/homebrew needs to be resigned. So all my stuff is working 100% on 4.21 REBUG (IMO, the best new CFW).
