Andoma has updated Showtime – a PS3 Homebrew Home Theater System application. Showtime is a media player for use on HTPC media centers. It is primarily intended to be controlled via keypad input such as a IR or bluetooth remote control, keyboards, etc but works also very well with a pointer device.

Better strategy for waiting on UPNP devices to show up when browsing

Can this play .wtv files from windows 7 media center? they are recordings from over the air digital atsc via AVerMedia AVerTVHD Duet (A188 - White Box) - OEM tuner,

They sorta play with massive lag using normal xmb options. stuff like seeking and crap don't work but it will play after a minute of waiting almost, Works perfectly fast pc to pc via gigabit lan but ps3 fails miserably yes its hooked to same gigabit on the shortest cable its in same room as my pc hooked to my 22inch 1080p monitor via hdmi and my pc is connected to dvi on same monitor so i can swap back in forth with press of a button so not a big deal but it will be if i move ps3 into other room,

I better mention they are HD recordings uncompressed accept for standard channel compression they do before it goes over the air, as atsc tuners just save the data as it streamed via tv channel and do no encoding, My pc in other room can easily play and seek and skip through the video but the ps3 cant (it actually takes longer then just watching if i try to skip or fast forward a few mins into the show so i'm hoping showtime will work better than the ps3 does through normal xmb?

I would like an option in showtime if it don't already have it, haven't tried it yet as im tired i may tomorrow but a 15 or so second skip so i can skip commercial in recorded tv if recorded tv even plays of course lol

Sorry but it doesn't move anything here. The app is still in "Games", and what do you mean by remote play?
Can i stream the movies via PC now?

same thing happen to me but works load it up then get out and you will find it will go into video side

like stussy said, swap the param.sfo, then open up showtime via ps3, exit and you'll find that the app has moved to'video' under xmb, i've only tested the remote play on the psp, meaning you can use showtime on your psp via remote play, pretty cool if like me spend a lot of time on the go, i don't know about pc remote play, should work in theory, why don't you try it and tell us how it goes?

Tried showtime it does work a lot smoother and loads better than default through xmb awesome, How do i set it up so i can fast forward and skip using the dual shock 3 controller? or do i need keyboard / remote?

Edit it works better but still don't work so good, If i skip so many seconds it skips but the video kinda freezes and audio still plays, weird, then it will end up locking up say if i try to do any other action after that it freezes whole ps3 then i have to hit power button and turn it off and back on, 3.55 kmeaw.

this thing works awesome can finaly watch my MKV's i couldn't convert to ps3. high def movies and tv shows dont work well from an external drive havnt tried them from the internal but menu's work amazing everything works smooth going from folder to folder i like the loading icon how its animated and the first flip animation.

This would be awesome if seeking actually worked and if mkv playback were improved. Overall great app I suppose but I just hope these bugs get worked out soon.
