SGK Team Has A CFW 4.31.1 Work In Progress

WARNING! This custom firmware is still a work in progress. DO NOT install this custom firmware without having a backup of your PS3 NAND/NOR and a hardware flasher. PSX-Scene is not responsible should you ignore this warning and brick your console.

If you have not read the above warning then stop reading until you have. French developers, SGK Team, have released their custom firmware. This custom firmware, as stated in the title of this article, is a work in progress. Based on Rebug's 4.21 REX CFW it includes OFW 4.30 keysets, something which the recently released Rogero 4.21 CFW v2 has. Also noted is a 4.31 spoof to allow access to PSN, provided the pass phrase does not change in the foreseeable future.

About SGK Team CFW 4.31.1:

Hi all, What's better than coming back with this kind of news! Our friend and SGK developer releases today the result of hard work. Indeed, in the shadow he worked to bring us a CFW with features interesting and not yet seen the new CFW 4.xx. The basis of this is based on the CFW Rebug 4.21, which is the REX CFW most stable and most successful of the moment.

He added the Debug menu and Rebug Package Manager for our greatest pleasure. Some files from firmware 4.30 which ensures compatibility for the latest keysets. So you can play your backups favorites without a patch or fix. 4.31 is a spoof includes access to PSN and avoid unintended updates.

Firmware bricks do not do the installation occurs.

Do not install from recovery mode.

error occurred during the installation from the xmb does not update.

And test users to use a hardware flasher.

ps) I did a test on the e3 flasher.

Testing now VIA XMB, if it doesn't work ill try via recovery; ill post any results or bricks when its done, but its at 1hour to download atm

Tested

Got to 100% on the XMB, and while it was 'checking data' it showed the corrupt data error.

then tested via the recovery menu, and data was shown as corrupt

this team this closest of a CFW that installs on top of an OFW have a ps3 CECH 2511A firmware less possible it is 3.60 am stuck on 4.25 ofw tested it on my ps3 all uploaded files up to 100% in the second half as it seeks to connect the USB cable from the control I get an error and restarts did the same test with Rogero CFW 4.30/4.21 loads files up to 70% with 4:30 SARME CFW V1.4 loads files up to 70% good job team SKG'm waiting for version 1.2 for details

how about someone comes up with a cfw that installs on ps3 higher than 3.55. now that would be spectacular, but all we have is copy paste cfw's that are all similar,but for a few different lines of code here and there. and before someone says i do it myself, i would have if i had the knowledge!! is it so bad to wish for something...

er...you're kinda late and this is a pointless thread to post that comment in. so, yeah, you can.

Like everyone else I want to know as well.... Will this be able to be installed over OFW? If this can be installed over the OFW then I bet it will be come more famous then anything else in here. I have my selfish reason for hoping this we be able to be installed over OFW. My 1st PS3 got its 2nd YLOD so now I have my back up but its also on OFW. Well I only can hope and pray. lol

I'm brazilian, so I wanna know just, if i have a 4.31 CFW do I have to get a fix to my games or I can update them without problem???

News to me that CFW 4.xx was kept secret. In rebug's case, they wanted to perform testing to make sure the CFW was safe for all to use. Which takes time to test the many features it has.

If they announced they had a 4.xx FW then. Everybody would be asking them for a release and not understand proper testing would have to be done.

Some of the other CFW didnt have as much testing and problems occurred. No one has had serious issue with Rebug REX 4.21.1.

For anyone who thinks you need a CFW 4.30 or 4.31 over rebugs 4.21.1 are very badly mistaken. There is no advantage. Rebug can do everything the other "higher" CFW can do plus much more. As they use the same keys 4.21 keys. This is not like comparing 3.41 to 3.55 as there was changes from those versions.

sooo these nubs take Rebug a masterpiece (if I do say so myself) and strip it, butcher it, add a cold boot and call it their own?? I just dont get it? WTF is the point of butchering Rebug and then making claims that they added anything they must know they will be called out? lv1 lmfao... this has been patched from DAY ONE, they sure as hell aren't patching anything in lv2 that we haven't already covered soooooo yeeeaaaah...

There is a reason 4.3x has not been released and to elaborate for the ones asking I've discussed it before but I will just go over it again so it doesn't get asked 50 more times, the keys are EXACTLY THE SAME as 4.21! And 4.30 dex fw will brick converted consoles we have tested it throughly!

Sony has added a check for converts so until we look into it 4.30 is out of the question. I mean we can put together a 4.31 cfw but it wont be Rebug so if you want something that isn't Rebug use rogero's cfw

There is no reason what so ever to upgrade to 4.3x anything just sayin

Wonderkik this is our FW... only and a cold boot added and god knows what else he messed up... He CANT do crap with lv1 because he doesn't have the key to even touch lv1

rebug.421.1 with the toolbox spoofs 4.31 and everything else under the sun... + there is no need for a 4.3x cfw! the keys are the EXACT SAME

you really think we need to explain to someone making a cfw about my comments... if they dont have a clue then they shouldn't be making cfw end of story...

And I can care less if someone wants to strip our cfw and do something with it (it is open after all), but ADD SOMETHING dont just put up some bs claims and change the cold boot because thats some nub crap right there

If we didn't believe in openness you wouldn't have a FW from us what so ever anyone that can read english (or translated for that matter) can go to the ps3 dev wiki and learn how to do anything they please with the ps3

What about game updates and games that require 4.25+ FW

we gave dean the patches to add to multiman, so go update mm to the latest version and it will auto patch for you

Stay with what works and has been tested. If you dont want all the features of rebug go with rogero. If you want a more advanced CFW go with rebug.

All these other ones there just is not a need until they add something the other two can't do. in my opinion.

Why in the heck are they using multiMANs logo in their logo?

OK i know everyone wants something that works and that its safe for their ps3 Everyone wants that. I guess i am miss understood or im not unstanding something.. Either way the question still remains. We have 4.30 CFW out there but you have to down grade to do it. Thats great and I did it to my PS3 and it worked great untill I got the YLOD again. Thats sucks but that besides the point. Ill take care of that some other day. Anyway. How about all the other people suck on 4.30 OFW. Im sure they would love to be on CFW with out using some kind of flasher or progsheet . Everyone one else gets it for free. Now If there is a CFW 4.30 coming out for the reset of the people then great all they have to do is wait. We all waited for a long time and we have been given such a great gift and most people are happy! I just think these people that are suck need some kinda of info or a little light of hope that they to will some day enjoy a CFW 4.xx and above with out buying some kinda equipment. What kills me more than anything is that I go on Youtube and people are claiming that they have a 4.30cfw that you can install through recovery mode right over the OFW. I dont know if its true or not. I would be scared to try something from youtube but a lot of people are doing such a thing and Bricking their ps3's. So if anyone has some kinda info to give on any up come CFW for the rest of the people that want to do it I think it would be wise and save alot of people from bricking their ps3's. I do believe that the DEVs should take there time on any CFW they deside to put out. And anyone that would want to rush any DEV on their CFW should deserve a bricked PS3.
