Scogger HD Released for the PS3
Today, Italian developer Scognito
has brought us an updated port of his original homebrew game Scogger
. The game has come a long ways since its original incarnation on the Nintendo DS. The latest version features updated animations and marks the first Scogger release to feature high definition graphics.
For those of you unfamiliar with the game, Scogger is a puzzle game in which you control a frog, which you make leap from tree trunk to tree trunk. As you hop from each trunk the previous one disappears. The goal of the game is to clear all of the tree trunks. The game features 100 puzzles and randomly chooses 10 puzzles for you to clear in total. Each time you play you'll get a completely new experience!
For those tech oriented minds out there, Scognito originally used SDL for PS3 to port the game over. However, this proved extremely slow, so Scognito used HermesEOLís tiny3d lib for the graphics and SDL Mixer for the sound in the game.
