To Quote PS3HAX: Wicked has released his SACD ripping software for the PS3. For backwards compatible PS3′s only, check this site for more information on SACD. For those unable to use Google, here is what SACD is.

Super Audio CD (SACD) is a high-resolution, read-only optical disc for audio storage. Sony and Philips Electronics jointly developed the technology, and publicized it in 1999.[citation needed] It is designated as the Scarlet Book standard. Sony and Philips previously collaborated to define the Compact Disc standard (as well as the S/PDIF digital audio cable specification). The SACD medium supersedes the storage capacity, fidelity, dynamic range, and stereo imaging capabilities of the Compact Disc.

First of all my apologies for my post from half a year ago. At that time of writing I thought I had it all figured out, but I was far far away from reality. Now, a half year later I can tell you that PS3 SACD ripping is finally possible and works with a natively build PS3 application (NO linux required).

It really has been a rollercoaster ride and without the release of PS3 keys this would not have been possible. Although still in alpha successful dumps are being made as we speak. But due to legal reasons I will not spread binaries and I’ll leave that up to others. The user interface is simple but it will allow you to dump DSDIFF, DSF, ISO in both multi and stereo channels and it also creates the necessary ID3 tags so your track/disc information is not lost. Remember the software is still in ALPHA, but it’s way more than just a proof of concept… let the testing begin!

Usually I stay away from anything with the words Sac and ripping in it, but this will have to be an exception.

correct me if i'm wrong but all we have are the 3.60 public keys? and we still need the private keys?

I'm usually all for exploding people with questions about the keys, but there's a link called 3.60 keys. Hence me not seeing it to be as dumb of a question.

yes this is what we need, to rip cd's no1 uses anymore. i hope soon i get an app to melt cheese on my ps3

please i dont want 3.6 cfw

People need to stop asking if everything is gonna lead to a 3.6x CFW. The crypto error in the PS3 has been plugged, so there is absolutely no way for anyone to release 3.6x keys. We have to use a different method entirely. I hate to say this but math, and several others have more then said this over and over again. There will never be another CFW that relies on 3.55 and below CFW methods. It's impossible. The "epic fail" is no longer epic.

I know most of you don't follow SACD, but this is huge. Up until now SACD hasn't been practical to rip; there are a few custom PCB hacks, but no one has been able to outright RAW rip a SACD. And while this isn't really defeating the encryption per-se (it relies on a compromised device), this is the first time SACD ripping has been practical. This is fantastic!

This is only for consoles with the BMD-001 based bluray drive. These have the CXD5064 chip which decodes SACD. Consoles with newer bluray drives don't have the said chip and therefore cannot decode SACD. Early consoles that had their bluray drive replaced with BMD-002 or newer bluray drives will not be able to use this tool. Therefore, even if your console has SACD logo on it's shell it might not be able to play an SACD disc if it has been serviced(refurbished) at SONY or with hacks.

VERY nice to see people reverse-engineering things, who knows maybe this will spark a revolution (doubt it). but still this is interesting stuff. that is also very cool that he wrote the ida-spu plugin while reversing the sacd functionality. this guy is talented.

good point there prea ,the scene is stuck with what we have in the moment ,its back to 0 and start over again
but since graf_ gave us linux i think that there is hope that there be another way in the future ,if all share there work the locomotive would toe the train to its goal ,4 now the train is derailed .
